I think the team did a fantastic job communicating the emotion of the main character. The scence where you pull Timmy out of the artifact is very visceral and sounds amazing.
You really feel terrible for the character while he's realizing that his son is about to transform into a mutant infront of a live audience, and he's going to have to kill him, and that all this trouble has been for nothing in the end.
Admittedly the one year later part is a bit dry. And needs some polish in the transition and two more cutscences explaining that obviously, yes we got another survivor to save our son:
You see a similar scene to the games opening sceen from the perspective of Matthew Cross (The Red Man).
It then cuts to an escape scene, either the player uses the sailboat to get off the island, or some help arrived (which it certainly would to investigate two plane crashes, NTSB anyone?? They don't eff around).
We then need one more scene before the tv show where you wake up and see your kid playing in your living room or something, you notice his twitches and you ♥♥♥♥ your head slightly, look down slowly in dismay and depressive thought. You take a deep breath as you slowly look upward. Your son looks up at you from his toys and you force a crooked smile and reach for your son's hand and turn toward the front door, grabbing your iconic axe before leaving for the studio.
I think the player would have a better setup and understanding for what comes next. They will also be thrown for one more loop as they question whether it was an "it was all just a dream" plot, just before you see Timmy's behavior, and know that it couldn't have been, and something terrible is coming.
Thanks for the help!
You should probably give a *spoiler alert* at the beginning of your post.
I agree. It was a pretty pretty good ending to a pretty difficult narrative. That you became the very person you despised from the beginning of the game for taking Timmy. And for the very same reason Timmy was taken...that is...to bring back to life your child.
You can almost fill in the story from Mathew Cross' point of view. Performing experiments that created mutants that killed his daughter then using the device to bring down an airplane so he could get a living sample to bring his daughter (Megan Cross) back to life. And that he was also obviously killed by Megan was so sad.
Poor Timmy, what a fate. :-(
All in all the game was a blast to play and a rewarding gaming experience.
i dont know what the ♥♥♥♥ is that artifact for
It attracts those Mutants or keeps them away, so you can have a intense fight or not if you decide to stay on the "island"(peninsula)/forest..
Try stickin it into the ground, its lightcolor indicates what mode it is in.
