things I've found out building tree houses
1. Normal tree houses are best space wise compared to alpine tree houses but with alpine you have a little deck area where you can place a water collecter can't with a normal tree house.

2. The size of the tree matters how high you can place a tree house. For the longest time I've wondered how to get a tall treehouse and it turns out skinnier tree's allow for higher placement compared to fatter tree's (still wish I could place them higher though).

3. Now most of you prob already no this but don't go hiding in your tree house when their is a super mutant chasing you. They will attack the base of your tree and knock your whole house over very quickly. Same thing with regular mutants but not as quick. Though you can just place some barricades around your tree but then the mutants will no where you are if your trying to hide.

4. If you use your space will you can place lots of things in your tree house like firepit, drying rack, a actual bed, and in some cases a chair to regain energy.

I hope this helps you guys out I love making tree houses personally

Trees are not solid all the way to the top, i think the rendering of it, if i said that right is about 3/4 of the tree. Any higher then that and you will just phase through it.

Since rock walls take damage now there is no way to make an invulnerable tree house in a normal tree now. However if you want to use normal trees it is best to build a triangular rock wall close to the tree all the way to the top of the blueprint, this will make your base fire proof from flaming tennis balls, otherwise one tennis ball will destroy everything. If placed correctly, sorta wide at the bottom then closing in closer to the tree the higher you go then you can pretty effectively remove all threat from enemies in a normal tree and not loose space inside tree house. If a mutant starts attacking those rock walls you better move away or kill it very fast. With the last method it will at least protect you for a short time if needed before you move away to kite the mutants away from your tree house.

If you want a legit 100% damage free tree house then build stuff in the white trees. Use custom platforms on it.

just build up some support of some kind, either solid or more skinny-pillar-like then use the custom roofing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWQHwJzFzp4&list=PLifiLYgrZMmT6kbFMMqvikDRcgNR9BNg0&index=4

Yes this is what i meant really. Use custom platforms to attach around the tree, shouldnt need but 4-6. Then prob build custom foundation connecting to all the platforms and there ya go. Numerous ways to do this but you do not have to do anything on the ground.
