Ok so the game usually keeps a backup copy of each save, just incase of losing one file or something, however, it overwrites it each time, so I'm hoping the BACKUP is still ok. So, try searching for YOUR copy of your saves (not Steams copy, the game doesn't load files overwritten in there), personally I find the folder we need in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\SKS\TheForest\76561198050051804 ; but it can vary wildly from computer to computer, so we may have to work to find it (also make sure you can view hidden folders) then look for the save in which slot you want, like slot 1-5, open the one you want, and look for the files that have the _Prev suffix , those are (hopefully) going to be the uncorrupted files, so you just delete the newer corrupted files (resume, difficulty, info, etc. and the thumbnail of the save) and rename the ones with the _prev suffix to no longer have the suffix so Resume_Prev is renamed to just Resume, and so forth. Only delete the files that have a suffix'ed copy of themselves to rename. Now you should have your world back, at the point you had saved BEFORE the save that went wrong.
