Underground gardens for growing shrooms?

I've searched the net for about an hour now looking for info on underground gardens as mentioned in tooltip of picked mushrooms (0.70).

Is there any way to make an underground garden yet? Does it have to be inside a cave, if so, how do i get logs down there? I really want to grow some mushrooms, any clues are appreciated!

Since few patches you can just take log and use the entrance to get inside.
(the rock entrance not rope)

yes, but to get logs there you need to enter the cave which is current location of chainsaw and go loong way (+ build stairs once on the road)

But shortcut to sinkhole is nice :D

My friend was telling me about a technique he uses, and I've accidentally done it a few times myself, where if there are logs near a dropdown rope you can kinda glitch into going down the rope with 2 logs on your head, then just hit "G" to drop the logs while still on the zipline and go back up quick

Anyone know if you can build gardens in a "basement" to grow mushrooms? I'd love the option of growing mushrooms in my S&M dungeon.

If basement is in cave then yes.
If basement isn't in cave then no.

Such a smart ass, lol. Anyway, they should make it possible to grow fungus in a basement (covered by multiple layers of floors, perhaps biome dependant and dies in sunlight).

It's not like they encourage building in caves or they'd make it easier to do (not saying they wont, but it doesn't make sense to limit it to caves when we can't even find them in caves).
