NEW ENDING!!! WHY?

For those who are not aware, the forest now has a new edning at the end of the game. For those who don't want spoilers turn away and finish the game or watch the ending.

So yeah, I don't really know how to feel about this one. for starters WOW this was out of left field, and also, are you kiding me. Why add more to the ending, I like the whole Timmy twiching, intense musice, and cut to black. THE FOREST

Now we have, you as the player running up to timmy, holding him, and he stops twiching, open his eyes and then cut to black, THE FOREST.

So why?
I can see only three reasons

One devs want to add two different ways to the game. good ending, bad ending.
Good ending you rescue timmy within 100 days and you get the new ending.
Don't save him within 100 days and get the achivment and you get the bad ending.

The achivment is called Bad father "survive 100 days without finding your son"

Second, maybe they thought it was to dark and depressing so they changed it. Which many of us would agree it was fine the way it was.

Third, maybe we're just seeing only part of a new longer ending, maybe an even darker ending were we see timmy transform, like megan did. Meh only time will tell.

What do you guys think? Good were it was at, or is this the start of a longer ending?

I think they will change it since the change wasn't in the patch notes.

they changed the ending, now "your son" would be ok.

This is a really old thread but since we are discussing endings...

Good is subjective. I'd say rescuing Timmy is the bad ending. If you look at the screen at the end there are 3 potential children on that plane as well as other passengers which you will be sacrificing to save Timmy who is already dead mind you. The good ending is to shut that artifact down, end that madness and let Timmy rest in peace.
