How do I retrieve my Steam Cloud save files?
Hello people.
So I've recently moved to a new computer and I was wondering if I can install the old save file from the other computer to this new one. The game from my old computer always syncs the save files to the Cloud every time I close my game.
Due to some circumstances, I am not able to access my old computer, so I can't copy paste the save files to the new computer.

+1 I been wondering about this myself, I don't need it at the moment, but I could see myself in your situation.

I just tried this.
After updating my game, the game still shows me my 4 months old save files (the same ones that I have last touched before I moved to another computer from this computer).

What I did was I force closed Steam using task manager while still having the game running. Once it's completely closed, I force closed the game as well. I was assuming Steam might take my current 4 months old save files and replace the latest save files in Steam Cloud if I close the game normally. By force closing both applications, Steam did not have the chance to do so.

After starting up Steam and the game again, I got my latest save files back.

I'm still not sure why the game did not load the save files from the Cloud during my first game startup, though.

so how do you actually get at the copies on the disk (or explorer, or whatever)? or does steam just do it for you since they have the cloud servers on their end?

go to
\Steam\userdata\*Your ID here*\242760\remote

And you will see your steam cloud saves

oh that's what that was, I was using that as my actual save file for awhile since that was the only place I could find copies (the proper folder was hidden) xD always wondered why when I put stuff INTO there it didn't sync up with the game

It worked for me to start a new game just to create a new save in a free slot (check which ones are free in \Steam\userdata\*strange ID number here*\242760\remote). When going back to the menu, my cloud saves were there!
