Stuck on "Feeling Hungry"?
So I played this a while back, and I quit because I was disheartend by losing weight uncontrollably, and at some point i was down to 10 Strength. In that playthrough, I was looking at the game as if I was actually stranded on an island, only eating animal meat, berries, and edible plants, hell, I stayed away from mushrooms completly, because a survival rule of thumb is if you cannot 100% identify a mushroom, don't even touch it. Suggestions I got included being on a strick diet of eating 2 large meats (generic, lizard, rabbit) a day, and on the 5th day eat 3, making sure never go to into the red. I played for a while after that, using that advice, but after seeing no results, quit, hoping later patches would work better. I started up again and from the start went to that diet, felling less than 10 trees per day, never touching the snacks, soda, booze, or poisonous mushrooms (awesome we can gather them and see if they are poisonous before eating them now =D), and for sure staying away from human meat. I'm on day 29 at 191 pounds, my strength has stayed steady at 20 for the most part (if i saw it dip, I'd reload a previous save and do the lost time differently), but I cannot seem to gain weight or keep it steady. After losing 2 lbs one day, I got frustrated and ate like 3 rabbits, a snack, and a soda. Also on my status, it has said "feeling hungry" since day 1, no matter how much I eat, my status is always hungry and I keep losing weight. Has anyone had this and fixed it? Is this just a bug I can ignore? I really don't want to lose any Strength, when I was down to 10, fighting was a challenge.

Some idiot thought this is great for a survival game ...they need their heads examined. only eat 2.2 meat a day chop X amount of trees swim here and run there FFS i want to eat to stop starvation i want to log 80 logs to make a cabin i don't want to swim for 25 minutes i have better things to do ,and if i don't stick to a diet routine rofl!! my stats suffer .. is this a joke or a survival cardio/diet game?? Steam needs a new search tab ..Cardio/Diet sandbox ..you will find the forest in it.
Definitely the worst part of this game.

Ruins the immersion and makes me want to retroactively unpurchase the game.

I have yet to actually finish the game, I keep getting caught up trying to solve diet issues. It's a neat concept, I get the need or appeal to it in a survival game, but I'm spending real world hours trying to get my character "healthy" and not doing the things I want to do, like base building or actually experiencing the story they made, but if I don't stick to some regimine, which i flipping have been, my strength drops and I may as well be fighting the cannibals with a wet noodle. It needs to be more forgiving. I've spent a couple days literally not doing anything but sitting on a bench, eating and drinking, trying to solve this issue, but my character is still losing weight.

Just stop playing.

Either the dev will remove the insane system, make it more user-friendly and logical, or they won't. In either case you lose by trying to sort it out as the system stands.

It's simply not fun.

The weight system as it currently works is the only unfun thing about the game in my opinion. Exploring the caves, the building, defending against cannibal attacks, love all that.

Currently there are many graphic bugs in GUI "feeling hungry" is one of them :D
Also currently you can't check if you are doing good or bad because the arrows sindicating good/bad dissapeared somewhere.

Weight is trollolo for sure :D Eating only snacks, drinking soda and I can't get higher than 202 ;-;
Actually it's strange/confusing when you start new game and you manage to make it "impossible to go lower than 210/higher no matter how many days of starvation passed"

Myself I have totally ignored the diet and strength increase, (50+ days still only 20 strength) because in current state it takes all the fun of the game.

Yeah i did not worry about strength but i have now dropped 6 strength in 6 days to be 14 and it seems to be still dropping,i have followed guides on youtube like eat the large meat and chop no more then 5-6 trees and still i am dropping...i don't know what to do,all the guides are last patch because they have different HUD/Book for stats there are no arrows to indicate anything.

I think that trees stacks :D
If you chop 100 trees on 1st day then you will have to do the 10 without chopping to stop the strength decreasing.

But that's just my theory I can't check it because I prefer to chop trees with explosives or dynamites :D Cave 1 and Cave 2 have endless resupply of those, other players use chainsaw too.

If dieting worries you so much don't bother with it. The you only gain 0.07% bonus damage per point in strength. +70% at maximum of 99. -7% at minimum of 10. Just don't overeat or rely on easy mode snacks and soda and you won't get any penalty to your athleticism, which should be easy to do if you are only eating to avoid starvation.

Nothing in the game forces you to diet. It's a small bonus for those who do.

I recall strength not adding or subtracting too much in numbers, but last time I played, fighting cannibals in melee with 10 strength was a grueling experience. I don't know if the devs have since made it easier, but in this playthrough, I feel like a warrior. The cannibals go down so much quicker and easier with the base 20 strength. That 7% feels like significantly more.

The first thing you should do is kill two rabbits using a weak spear (throw it numbskull) then make a pouch. You can get berries easily with this, you can also pick up mushrooms with it to identify if they are poison or not.

Right now poisoning is not very dangerous unlike in real life.

Also notice this and haven't been trying everything to raise it but no luck. I'm going to just proceed through the game as normal.
