Going by the stats page you will see your fullness. twice per day you eat meat anywhere between 64-51% fullness (36-49% hunger as you said it) to avoid any undereating or overeating points. That should give enough good nutrition in your diet to gain strength. You can eat a 3rd meat on every 5th day if you want to optimize your good nutrition earnings. If you are eating 3 meats every day or more, than you will reach a point in your diet where you will stop earning good nutrition from it.
Now that strength updates every 22.8 seconds, being below 50% hunger and earning even 1 single undereating point while having 10+ trees cut on your counter could result in 0.01 strength loss every time it updates (0.1 on the stats page per 228 seconds) if you have little to no good nutrition.
It sounds too me like too much meat in your diet. It is hard to explain how to recover from that because it's impossible to know what your daily meat average is and the developers have not mentioned if that average is spread across all survived days or only a recent number of days. But somehow you need to reduce that average daily meats to between 2 and 2.2 meats per day in order to begin gaining good nutrition again. I'd suggest eating only 2 meats per day until you see good nutrition benefits and make sure you never dip to 50% full for even a second (including after sleeping).
Hope that helps.
