Maybe its because the way the sled works, would mess up if it was moved by the lift? Like send it flying to the moon because of collision issues? xD
My guess is that it was a temporary solution, until they figured out a fix? Maybe the Community Manager can fill the blanks, as to why?
But yeah you can get on it but it's not a wall that stop it to get on there.
The rope in the middle stop it.
The middle rope makes it so that there isn't enough space for the cart to get on. I build a small stairs so I could like go up and then fall on to it but when I tried then I got closer on it but can't get passed the middle rope.
So the lift is just too small with the middle rope there.
Like a industrial lift.
So i dont use them.
For me there are 4 ways I can do it.
The lift with a platform to the island with lift again.
Zip line to the island but that's a one way trip.
Boat with log holders.
A platform with 2 stairs. But that's abit very simple looking and boring. Also if the platform go abit high up then it can be annoying to place stairs to the ground since I might have to go in parts.
But could you also use the zip line for other things than you or logs?
There were a few things i wanted to build but the limitation on custom connect points pissed me off so i quit lol. I did not want to have to try and lay 2x blueprint while trying to perfectly line it up to get my one building plan. Not the mention the nightmare it woulda been building on such a foundation. It can be done but its to time consuming.
If they would give us an infinite amount of connect points for custom blueprints i would be happier.
I cant remember the limit but i think you can only click "E" like 9-10 times before it maxes out, same goes for walls and everything of that nature.
I dont think the zip line can be used for anything else atm.
