how to create a secure entrance to a rock wall?
How do you make secure entrances/exits to rock walls or defensive walls?

place a bench close enough to sit on through the wall, build a wooden door, place a zipline to go over the wall, build a platform with a rope close enough to go through, build a happy birthday trap and run through it before it goes off (make sure to keep enough sticks at hand have to reset it every time)

One method people are fond of is making a bit of a gap on the ground level you can just crouch and walk under, I personally like making stair-stepped rock walls. Really depends on how much you want to bring through, just yourself? Or did you want to bring a log sled in?

Wha? You can crouch under the rock wall if you stack them? I assumed you couldn't as you can't jump over a tiny wall with a height of like, 3 small stacked rocks. ;P Thank you, this is extremely useful. I'd been using platforms on either sides of the base, connected with tree bridges (and now a crane elevator within the interior). I also incorrectly assumed that the cannibals would be able to get over the rock walls without it having at least 2 stacks, given they can launch off of 50-foot trees and land on their feet without an issue. TIL, heh.

errr wait, from the " I assumed you couldn't as you can't jump over a tiny wall with a height of like, 3 small stacked rocks" I'm thinking you might have misconstrued what I meant slightly, there should be no jumping neccesary, like if you have two little(or however long you want them) rock pillars 1 rock high, then put a second rock on top connecting the two, you can then crouch under that second rock; you can't crouch with the log sled anymore either so this method doesn't work for getting sleds into the base, but it makes for a nice little sneaky way in. And yeah lol the cannibals sure can jump long distances but they get caught up on the wierdest of things, although I like to make rock walls at least 4 high to be safe, and maybe more than 1 thick, sometimes things glitch through

oh, I just realized OP wanted defensive walls too, look at what Damnion suggested, some good stuff there :P (if a bit glitchy, with the ropes, etc.)

You forgot the famous invulnerable log sled in your list of exploits.

Oh, no! Haha. I failed to articulate myself earlier as I was multitasking with my stream for later. I meant, when I built my first rock wall I was surprised how short it was and that you nor the mutants could do a simple jump over it. Therefore, I assumed the pathing was blocked for crouching under it as well. Sorry for the confusion, but you were highly informative and I do appreciate the detailed response regardless. :3
