Machete and throwing spear?

I've been playing for awhile but I have no idea how to make a throwing spear, just a regular upgraded one.

Am I supposed to find the machete somewhere or make it? I can't find any recipes for it. Help?

spear + 2 cloth + 3 bones = upgraded spear

Machete is next to crashed helicopter at the bottom of the hole.

There are 2 throwing spears:
Weak spear = 2 sticks (also spawns next to ponds sometimes)

Upgraded spear = weak spear + 2 cloth + 3 bones (There are 2 spawn location in those strange big construction, one on the left-top side of island and second next to crocodile lake)

Also these is "Incendiary spear" which is just exploding upgraded spear (the same spot in inventory) upgraded spear + cloth + boozer = incendiary spear (After you throw it, it will turn into upgraded spear)

Oh okay. Now here's a stupid question but how do you throw the spear that has the bones? Is there a shadow like when you throw molotov cocktails? (Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I can't think how else to word it!)

No your character holds his left arm up if you dont have anything in it, like a lighter. It can be used to aim. It's something you might have to practice...aiming with the bow is a lot easier as the projectile is faster and has a flatter trajectory.

aim with rightmouse button.... then throw with left mouse button .. I try to use the distance between thumb and forefinger as a guide for accuracy.... then adjust height for distance..... build a target or use a tree for practice.

If it helps in regards to throwing objects. It would seem the index finger of the characters left hand shows the vertical range so to say.

I tend to use the tip of the index finger as my crosshairs and that normally does the trick. This might not work for targets further away though, especially dependant on what's being thrown.

You don't know how to make a spear, but know how to craft a "Regular" upgraded one?
So confusing.
The throwing spear is the regular one, the upgraded one is different. Which one are you having trouble crafting?
Two sticks gives you the regular weak spear, the upgraded one requires the previous item, 2 cloth and 3 bones.
