How to make a longer rope ?
Hello !

I used the "platform" blueprint to build a tall tower, problem is when I put a climbing rope on it, it is too short.

I was hoping the game will ask me enough rope to reach the ground, like for the zipline, but it's not.

Any way to make a longer rope ? I wouldn't have built a 120 logs tower for nothing :'(

Sadly the length of ropes maxes out at the distance you see. You can however descend down a rope that's short of the floor and still get down safely (usually) as the rope mechanic actually persists down to the ground level. But, the interaction icon is locked at the end of the rope. Depending on height, a lot of these can be jumped to while hitting your interact key to grab on from a distance.

You can also grab the rope end while falling past it if you're fast and accurate.

hey, ty for fast answers.

Well I am able to go down a few meter after the end of the rope, but at a moment my character realises there is no rope anymore and fall to his death.

Well, I'll figure another way the, maybe stairs ...

Build another, lower, platform beside current one and attach another rope

Ah, didn't realize you were building in the crater. Yeah, the way you did it is the only effective method. I thought you were building just a tall tower on the surface.

I would like to see a more reactive option on ropes though so you could build them longer. Just like many objects in the game, simply changing the rope count from 1 to the infinity symbol would work just fine. Increasing the cost based on the distance to the first 'floor' the rope can reach.

Holy .... Didn't expect that.

Maybe stairs really would have been the easier way. But I'm glad it's working out for you now.
