What is the ROV for ?

I was visiting a cave and I found this :

After a few search I discovered it's called "the ROV", but I can't take it. Is it just for decoration ?

yea...theres a few around in other caves...you can move the generator around by pushing it...but as you said its just decoration. btw if you havent got the climbing axe its proably nearby on a wall because theres a generator near the axe in one of the caves.

Came across the same thing. Too bad we can't take it with us, it could use the same slot as the turtle shell and you can't keep more than 1 in your inventory. That would be a great alternative to base lighting.
