Effigies burned after lit?

I noticed something that changed but it is not in the change log, after some time the effigies get burned and leave behind stones and bones is that suppose to happen?

Yes, they burn :) you have to rebuild them after a while. Sometimes they will stop burning, and sometimes they only burn for a night. Sometimes they can burn for several days.
They have no function (yet) though so if you only want them as decoration, don't lit them on fire.

Effigy burn time depends on the type of effigy. They make cannibals less likely to attack you when you are near the effigy. It won't stop them from attacking you but they are still very handy in situations where there are a lot of cannibals as it will reduce the amount of them you fight at once by keeping many of them back.

ahhhh so im right then that there is a function, but i really hate the fact that it doesnt stay like before, made the big effigie and it got destroyed over night

Hahaha and here I am just using them as perimeter torches. Make custom ones, so it's just a few sticks and rocks, cheap boundary lights.

Yeah had like 10 ( i belive for the big one ) heads, was finnaly done only to see it disapear the other day :( and not even by cannibals ( cause it was inside my base ) .Guess the Dev went overboard with ''All things burn out and have to be remade''. Wont make one of those agian...maybe a silly one with 2 legs and 2 arms and a head...But no more than that...

not sure about you but for me i always use the skull lamp because i never have to replace them, though they are dimmer than the rest but its good enough

Well I haven't lost a custom one with just a couple rocks and sticks. No need for a skull and it burns pretty bright considering its size.

For lighting up areas I can never go past bonfires. They provide a massive amount of light and last almost forever with a few leaves thrown on here and there. Every now and then when they run out it just gives me a useful excuse to use up some logs which helps provide reasons to chop trees down for strength gains.

Every now and then one seems like it disappeared but from my experince it seems pretty rare.
