2. As far as I know neither teeth nor feathers effect wood cutting.
Check this youtube channel out, he's the only forest youtuber I've seen that goes in depth with the mechanics.
The katana used to be very powerful (like it should be) but was nerfed because you could cheese through cannibals. It swings very fast but is as weak as the first weapon in the game, the plane axe, so I don't use very often. If they added weapon durabilty and kept its original damage but made the blade get dull very quickly, that would've probably balanced it. I personally find it strange that a stick with 29 broken glass upgrades is just as strong if not slightly stronger than the katana. It even drains less stamina, has the same range, has a decent swing speed and can have fire upgrades so arguably it could be a better weapon than the katana.
Feathers might slightly affect how fast you swing an axe on a tree, damage upgrades will not affect tree chopping.
The Axe may swing slow, but it hits hard and offers good blocking.
I would like to see maybe a way to improve the katana, not make it overpowered.. but increase it's block perhaps.
