Any way around the lame "sleep timer" ?
Playing with a friend sometimes and the game experience is ruined if we have to wait a theoretical in-game 24 hours to the dot to sleep again. That's no where near how life works. Some days we just want to turn in early so what gives?

Can this be changed or modded out or someone please help? Thanks

Explore a cave in that time, I'd suggest. You can forget time whilst you're in one of those.

Wow that was a quick reply, so thanks.

But I'm not looking for other things to do. We want to sleep when the sun goes down.

Since I bought that yesterday, well, I don't know. The quick reply was because I have to wait for the timer aswell :steamhappy:

haha that's great. I suppose one thing we could do is browse the forums while we wait. Cheers :happymeat:

Still though, I feel this "feature" should be removed.

I'll have to disagree. When it didn't have this feature, you were able to skip entire nights, f. e. survive day 23 without even moving. Hasn't been fun.

There's a mod for ModAPI that removes the sleep timer altogether.

Much more realistic in my opinion as I've never not been able to just lay down and close my eyes in real life at any time of my choosing.

Thanks for replies, we as players determine our own level of realism. This isn't something we want to abuse, it's just sometimes we want to hit the hay early but instead have to stand around waiting for the timer.

A sleepless night should fix this. I am serious. Skip one night (don't sleep) and go to bed a soon as it gets dark next day. Might be obvious for most but wasn't for me at the beginning.

Depends. If you have a custom bed this is really good idea. If not, it'll most probably end in half night again...

The best way to avoid the sleep timer going off sync is wait until the night is COMPLETELY set, wait 5-10 seconds, and sleep.

I wish they made it so you can be woken from sleep again, i miss that feature

No you don't, you play a game created by others according to their vision. The sleep timer is a balancing thing, it clearly stops you from being able to just 'sleep' through any attacks or avoid night time altogether. Remove that and you remove a lot of the terror and the suspense. I just don't buy this idea that people have that as a player you should be able to 'customise' your experience of the game. To a large extent, you shouldn't. Games are about learning the rules and trying to figure out ways to exploit them to succeed, not changing them to make yourself more comfortable.

Exactly my thoughts.

Ever hear of mods? I get "respecting the creators vision" but the player often does what the player wants. And lately I've been playing in peaceful mode so terror and suspense is not part of their vision here. Still I'm having sleepless nights. :Skele_rage:
