Alternative ways to get cloth?

I'm running out of baggages to earn cloth from, and I need alot of ropes, is there a way to craft cloth or to gather it?

Easiest way I've found to gather cloth is to steal it from the main cannibal village in the south east, the northern hut near a cliff has red paint. So it's trivial to just grab the paint and run in and grab all the clothes from the lines/huts. You'll net 50+ if you grab them all.

I'm not familiar with the map, is there a link to the full map and where "north" is?

Here's a rough map I use for cave entrances taken from the wiki for forest.

The village you're looking for is the one in the bottom right.

Easy way to find it would be to get to the yacht, and when you stand on the yacht facing the island, it's to your right along the coast.

The village should still be there, you're grabbing cloth off of clothes lines + the floor in one of the huts/around the centre tree.

Also, if it's rope you're after, a lot of cannibal buildings have rope hanging in them + the yacht has 2 pieces or rope on the top with 6 pieces of cloth on the interior.

Brilliant. It seems like you're an experienced player, so I'll just directly ask, how do you steer a raft? is there even a way to?

Rebreather cave - about 40-60 per clear - each clear taking about 2-3min

Go in via the rope, gather cloth all the way till you get to a rope down entrance, exit cave and repeat until satisfied.

You can gather tons and tons of cloth in a matter of minutes.

Small raft is steered with WASD keys and left/right mouse for forward/reverse. Maybe just A and D keys.

can confirm... it's usually an early stop for 300-400 cloth in the first couple days of the game and never worry about it again

Just build a base next to the village....Never run out of anything....I'm there, can't say I'm short of much

Okay, so I've (probably) gone into the correct cave, and found cloth and everything. There was a wall tho with religious symbols on it. I crushed it and looked inside and heard alot of breathing and eating sounds. I think it's one of those mutants..... am I just in the wrong cave or do I just have to walk inside?

there should have just been 2 pales in there and a rope down twice to the rebrather... youtube up a video on the rebreathert to get the exact look of the place

I have the rebreather, so it's there? like, in the lower chamber, not top?
