Why cant i light the torch (upgraded stick)?

So I've done my searches and found nothing on a way to actually build and light a torch. Cloth and Stick. Cloth and stick. Okay so i built the upgraded stick, have my lighter in hand. How do i light this ♥♥♥♥♥♥?

The survival book is not updated so it is useless on the topic. Can anyone explain?

Put the upgraded stick and the lighter in your hands, and hold the L key.
If the stick doesn't light, try adding more cloth to it in the crafting mat.

Cloth + stick, hold lightsaber, i mean lighter. Hold -> on your controller.

Think it's hold E or L or something on the keyboard. Check your options

With lighter in hand press and hold L until you see the animation triggering for liting it up. It goes same for lighting up fire arrows and any other weapon that you upgraded with cloth. Keep in mind that the cloth will eventualy burn off so you will have to apply a new one.

Just like a campfire you will have to press and hold "L" while holding a upgraded stick with cloth in your hand.
