Happy birthday trap
So 2 years after implementation it still doesn't work? It snaps, you can reset it now but it deals zero damage to enemies and yourself.

The way the difficulty ramps up in this game, all you do is give us broken tools to combat the cannibals.

Odd, works multiple times for myself.

Are you using it in multiplayer?

yes I am, 2 players. It snaps and keeps them out but that's all it does. No damage whatsoever.

Ah, that explains it.

A shame it has problems in multiplayer.

How are you measuring the damage done?
Commander Tom Feb 24, 2017 @ 1:56pm
with blood splat for enemies + no enemy ever went down on the trap.We built ten of them and they all snapped several times.
I walked in the trap several times myself and took no damage.

They do very little damage from what i can tell and ive never had a problem with them. I would guess 4-5 good hits should take down a cannibal. I dont think there is any sign when it damages them either. They have also never damage players.

Save yourself resources and only build deadfall traps.

multiple 1 hit ko's for me on co op. they have to be running into it and not just walking for it to kill them. they die instantly and get stuck in the spikes

He's right. You need to make sure enemies will go through it, not just walk around it or near it.

Try finding ways of funneling enemies into the trap (at the gates of your base or between large rocks, etc.). If they are moving in the direction of the spikes when the trap is activated they'll die instantly.

Deadfalls are the most cost effective and useable.

thats exactly what we did, we funneled 10 ish of them (they ran in exaclty the way they should, trap triggered but no visible damage) but thanks for all the valuable feedback guys, will see if we can put it to the test.

Definately not making these again, trying out deadfalls next.

Strange. I got a recent coop save in which we just finished building a few happy birthday traps. I'll see what happens when cannibals start showing up and update this thread.
