Can you remove the rope from a built tree platform?
I built a platform and connected bridges to it only to realise I needed one more side to connect another bridge, problem is the rope is there.

If I destroy the platform will I lose my bridges as well? Some are 60 logs long so I want to avoid it but I need to connect up to another platform.

If I can't destroy the rope is there a mod that can replace the structure with the unroped version and still keep the bridge?

Hopeing there is a way to fix this without losing all my logs.

Don't think so, you also lose the bridge if you destroy it, you could build a platform next to the tree platform

Oh thanks that's a good sugestion, I'll just have to do that instead. So bridges connect to normal platforms then?

Give this a try - take the hole cutting tool - the one in the book that shows you putting a square hole in a floor - and position it just on the rope - if the rope turns red - click - sometimes this tool can get rid of things that your axe cant. (like bonfires that dont lite up).

This worked, thx. It's a bit finicky, but doable if you try around a bit.

The problem with tree built stuff is that its one of the first thing hackers destroy in multiplayer - if ya have destruction off everything is safe except for tree platforms and other tree stuff because they have ways to take the tree down.

So even if destruction is On and you figure you will just do a reload of a previous save.... once the tree is gone your screwed ya have to hope it grows back and then you rebuild ..

so if you play multiplayer forget building anything using trees....

then also mutants can easily take out trees even if destruction is off single player or multiplayer so your screwed again but if your only concern is mutants then you could maybe build defensive stuff around a tree

maybe even defensive walls and fortify those round the tree

Tree platforms etc. are cool to bad we really can't enjoy them ..

- Yes, the fun of MP is ruined by rowdy ill-intentioned players.

- Isn't everything intact, including trees, in a save you keep before any gameplay and it stays 'isolated'?

- Yea, i use trees often. But one has to do things a certain way. Early on, I had the idea of fortifying around the trees, but I've found that you just have to operate a certain way so that monsters don't get attracted to them in the first place or they aren't riled up when close to your trees and you lure them away before getting them riled. I can successfully utilize trees a lot most of the time and they never get taken out if I deal with things accordingly. One time, the way I did it was put a custom floor on 2-high pillars (single log custom wall) which were in turn each on a tree platform (finding the right trees at same-enough elevation was the tricky part), and I made it big enough so that the 4 trees that the whole thing was founded on were spaced far enough away from each other that they weren't a target...monsters weren't close enough to them to mess with them when "in the middle underneath"...had a couple of bridges from said platforms which ran under this 'deck'...and underneath was covered with traps so by the time anything got close to me and wanted to get rowdy, it just get's taken out anyway...

...and btw, lol, when using that tree that makes a higher platform than the other, and being 2-high pillars higher than that, the fire throwing cannibal can still reach you, through the floor. I'd go down to the bridges so I can see them to know how to 'dodge' his fire. Can't sit up top to be safe, and can't see where they are when up top - shoulda made it with 3- high pillars, or even 4. But then, I'm not in game to just sit safely and miss action anyway. But it was nice up there...an open deck, no walls or roof, among the tree canopy, with it's view, with a pretty blueberry and coneflower garden complete with 2 birdhouses on a pillar in the middle of the garden, the colorful birds keeping me company up there.
