I don't use it for cutting trees because I have an axe that doesn't ever run out of fuel and I don't use it for fighting with enemies because I feel like it gives an amazing 1 damage. It's useless. Good thing I didn't have to go too deep in the caves to find it.

I agree that it should do way more damage and I also think you should be able to do brutal executions with it. But did you expect it to have infinite fuel?

Yeah, we should be able to cut off limbs with it, that'd be cool. And I didn't expect it to have infinite fuel, I was just pointing out that it's useless. You can't use it for killing, there's no point in cutting down trees with it because we already have an axe, so it's useless.

Yeah, we should be able to cut off limbs with it, that'd be cool. And I didn't expect it to have infinite fuel, I was just pointing out that it's useless. You can't use it for killing, there's no point in cutting down trees with it because we already have an axe, so it's useless.

I guess it was added to please some people that found tree cutting with an axe too time consuming. I wasn't expecting it to be added but now that it's in, hopefully they make it another brutal device. I'm wondering how you would be able to find fuel for it though once the devs stop respawning items in the caves.

i cut down 30 trees in no time at all with 1 tank of fuel it would have taken ages with an axe oh and i lost no stamina IT'S AMAZING :)

Meh, I'm very chill all the time, so I don't know what's your problem... And, there's no way to find more fuel since the items in caves don't respawn like the other dude said.

True they should just make alcohol the fuel or they need to model a gas can witch is more work for them so we dont just have something else useless.

Perhaps i'm being a bit of a party pooper here, but I don't even think there should be a chain saw in this game. Trees already get cut fast even with the weakest axe and the AI is already too easy without adding more OP weapons.

Actually cutting trees with axe is lowering your strength (If you want to build something big very quickly)
It is weak weapon - but good way to not lose strength while building base

To balance making it stronger, i think that when the chainsaw is used on a cannibal, you should go through an animation of cutting a limb off or something similar for a couple of seconds, leaving you vulnerable. It would also bring a lot of cannibals to your location, since it's a loud and unusual sound to them. And I think they added it because of the people that think this game is for mansion and castle building, so that they could build their stuff faster.
