How do I get sticks and cloth more easily? Do they respawn? Can they be crafted?

Okay, so I'm VERY new to this game and really don't know much about it. I don't want to read guides 'cause of potential spoilers.

I have figured out that animals keep coming back, and I set trees to regrow, but I am constantly running out of sticks and cloth. I've got piles and piles of bones from all the natives I have barbecued, but nowhere near enough cloth to do anything with them. Likewise, I've got all the logs I could want for building, but nowhere near enough sticks for furniture or arrows. Does anyone know if cloth and sticks respawn? Or if I can make them somehow?

Sticks: Cut down all those little saplings (little trees)/ You'll get 2 sticks per sapling. Also look around under the trees. Sticks are usually laying around under them. Also just scattered around in a lot of the caves. You'll probably want ro build your stick bag up to be able to carry 20 sticks. And build a couple of the largest stick holders (make blueprint for stick holder, approach it and hit "R" to extend it; same with log holder).

Cloth is in most of the suitcases, and most of the caves. The best cave, for me, is #5. Go in either entrance; take care of at least 2 cannibals. In addition to other stuff you'll find 10? or so big travel trunks. Smash them and get 4 cloths each.

Then go back outside the entrance; the cloths respawn, and come back in and do it again. Easy to get over 100 cloths this way. Happy hunting.

Thank you, dahni! I appreciate the advice! Are there any non-renewable resources I should be careful about? I'm not sure if my axe breaks, for instance.

Everything is unlimited. Bullets can be hard to acquire however.
