xbox one controller support.
hi, im trying to use my xbox one pad to forest. I watched youtube clips, and in those clips, ppl were playing the forest using xbox one controller with no problem. So I connected my pad to pc using usb cable, and started the game. But I cannot use the pad at all. I went to opt, control setting, and found out there were no keys assigned to control pad setting. I clicked restore, nothing changed, I clicked each keys to map keys for pad, nothing showed up. Only thing i can do is to change key bindings for keyboard and mouse.
What do i have to do to use gamepad on the forest?

I just tried it with my xbox one controler and it works for me. Try these steps and let me know if it works

First: (and this probably goes without saying) make sure your controler is connected to your PC, be it wired or wireless.

Second: make sure you turn on your controler before you run the game. I find that some games don't rrecognize your controler if you turn them on after you start the game.

Thiird: In game go to options go to the control tab, on the left side of the menu there should be an option, fifth one down that says, Advanced Controler Support (xinput) turn that on, and just below that there's an option that says Allowed Devices, click all devices and your controler should show up. For me it says Xbox one Controler

for me the allowed devices is blank after last patch. i tried my xbox one, xbox 360, and ds4 setup through steam. all turned on before the game launched. all unresponsive

the xinput isnt saving for me, the box is unchecked every time i start up the game

perhaps my settings file needs to be reset.
EDIT removed all settings and single player saves. didnt help, gonna try reinstalling

Ah so i found a fix on my end, edit the game exe to run as admin

not sure why, ive never had issues before. 40 hours or so

EDIT
unticking all but the top setting in big picture mode controller config fixes it too
