Strange man on the Yacht

Okay, so i was playing on a single player game and i came across the little bay with the dead sharks and the yacht. But what caught my eye was an orange man standing on the boat. As i got closer he opened some sort of hatch in the front of the boat and hopped in it and dissapeared. Is this supposed to happen? ive never seen it before so i am deeply confused (and terrified)

If you didn't skip the intro you would know who that I's but yes It's supposed happen he's gone just go to the yacht and investigate.

A couple of versions ago I saw him on the yacht, and rowed my raft around it and got a video. I then went on the yacht, walked up to him and tried to interact. He looked at me and followed my movement with his eyes, but didn't do anything else. I asked questions on this discussion forum, but got absolutely no response as to whether or not anyone else had ever gotten up close like I did. None.

I'm not a 'host', I'm a single player and I've now seen the Red Man twice on the yacht and once on the Cliff. I posted all three times... in this column. I guess it's not unusual, then for him to stay on the boat while I row around it on my raft; or board from the stern and take the photo I'm using as my avatar from about 6 feet.

Your welcome DB sometimes he will just stand a while but its normal you can also find his red paint in some camps/caves.

He appears not at the yacht only..

this "red man" plays a vital role in the main story and he appears here and there
the more you explore "the forest" the more info you may find about this guy and the reason why he is there and why he captured your son

I seen the red man at the initial plane crash, and i know who he is...but i've got 600 hrs in this game and have done some MP too, but i cannot recall ever seeing him anywhere. Might have but never stuck in my memory, and i've never had any interactions with him.
