master
That solely depends on you. The combat in this "enhanced" edition is even easier compared to the original.

Master. Game isn't that hard and I'm playing it with a controller.

Need to replay the OG without mods one of these days, because I have the same feeling, everyone is more spongy, even the player so it's easier to deal with threats. And there are anomalies EVERYWHERE, I just don't remember if it was always like this.

Play on rookie
master, the reason is the enemies are less bullet-spongy so you won't run out of bullets so fast

its literally the exact same. stop spreading misinformation.

Master. You die faster but so does everyone else. You can't run through gunfire anymore but a single headshot or 2 from an AK or better will basically always kill
I think your watching and old review of Gmanlives of the original Trilogy. And unfortunately he was wrong back then...

This "higher difficulty makes enemies less bullet spongy" narrative is a complete myth that was dispelled ages ago by STALKER fans. In fact, there is a chart you can find for this trilogy that outlines what exactly changes with the difficulty settings - just google it. The higher the difficulty, the more bullet spongy enemies become. And from everything I have read, this has not been altered in the Enhanced Editions.

Its not. Its a console port dumbed down for console plebs so they could actually be able to fight somehow meaning AI is already dumber than it was and it can barely hit ♥♥♥♥.

so play the original?
master, but make sure to play with mouse gyro if you're on a controller, aim assist only helps you waste ammo and the base controller bindings are unhinged

Unless you wanna play on controller, or subject yourself to all AI stuff they did with this game, yes.

What is this bs? On easiest the enemies are easier to kill, and you die slower. On hardest it's the opposite, the enemies are harder to kill, and you die faster.

As of what difficulty to choose - well, start with the hardest one, and you can adjust it mid-game. The game has quite a few frustrating moments due to poor game-design, but that's... original experience. If you want a good STALKER gameplay - you don't touch vanilla SoC / CS, you either play mods or at least vanilla CoP.

LMAO. Didn't expect to still see this myth in 2025.

Your weapons actually do LESS damage on Master.
