This comes off as an offensive cash grab. The people that made the original games are no longer at GSC and they are simply milking the classics while vandalising them at the same time.
^ Couldn't have said it better
Also, I can't imagine how much you have to be mega smart to expect a fix for old bugs when it was announced that the enhanced version would ONLY get improved graphics. Besides, how much do you have to be mega smart to demand something from a literally FREE version?
removing the Cheeki Breeki from Stalker is just a hate filled move on GSC's part.
Man, its not as though Ukraine is being attacked by Russia or anything, no reason to censor ♥♥♥♥.
Sure they gave people who owned the originals free "upgrades", but they did that because they knew the consequences of trying to make us pay for them again, ESPECIALLY considering that they removed content due to political reasons that have nothing to do with the gaming audience as a whole.
Once you start seeing the forest through the trees, the backlash of negative reviews is not only expected, but deserved. Frankly though, as long as they don't spend money and time countering modders who want to add said content back in, and instead work on fixing bugs and issues, I won't have much issue installing the Enhanced versions; I'll just have to actually do the work of "Enhancing" it myself, which unfortunately is not a surprising necessity in the current gaming landscape.
At this point I'm almost tempted to start making a giant collective list of the developers who partake in these evil tactics, because even if their studio goes out, or they get removed from said studio, that won't guarantee they won't slither there way in to another project that had potential.
