GunZ 2: The Second Duel

GunZ 2: The Second Duel

My opinion: Gunz 2 vs Ijji Gunz
I expected the gameplay would be different, especially after seeing that there would be classes. I must say it is nothing like Ijji Gunz. The game is still fun however, but the level of skill required has decreased. Tearing up a whole team, then dieing because anybody can hit a damn Q button has to be the most annoying aspect of this game. People cry about different classes, but in actuality every class has its benefits(stop crying bad kids). The biggest dissapointment to me by far is quest mode (campaign). As a long standing player of Gunz:The Duel, Quest mode was one of my favorite aspects of the game. The storyline isn't bad, but the fact you get barely any exp and coins as rewards makes it irrevelavant once you complete the story mode. They seriously need to incorporate drops or campaign will stay the same, which is 1 or two rooms open at a time because nobody finds it interesting. There is no thrill factor in repeating campaign stages that give you minimal rewards and nothing extra to look forward too. Like what happened to quest items and special bosses? Last stage of campaign is a joke compared to Lich/lizardman/aneramon/superion....even Gob King!! Wouldn't mind seeing them do something about the tesla shop either, we shouldn't have to rely on luck to acquire sets. All in all I like the game and look forward to seeing it turn into something everybody can enjoy.

Customizable and longer time/more people is the biggest dissapointment to me.

4v4 is nowhere near as fun as 6+vs 6+

I do miss the melee battles that didn't involve knockdown+shoot for every single weapon.

This is what I don't understand. GunZ 1 skill cap was developed due to mechanical exploits. GunZ 2 high skilled games have a huge skill cap where players who can time the "exploits" perfectly and have great aim will stomp others.

The skill cap in this game is A LOT higher then beginners give it credit for. Play a few games with Prime / Heroes / Other good players and you will understand.

Due to how crits and spray/pray works and how limited the mele functions are....

I wouldn't say its a "lot higher", but since most of the people just use range till anyone enters melee range, yeah, it's probalby higher than some newbies give it credit for.
I think the biggest reason players think the skill cap for the game is low is because they stomp noobs and assume that they're really good. A lot of players seem to be use to being forgiven for making minor mistakes where as in Gunz 2 a minor mistake will easily cost you your life. It also seems players are really use to "dueling" and being able to win games without teamwork, where as teamwork is key in this game.

You can't compare the skill caps between GunZ 1 and GunZ 2 because one played more on solo play the other plays on team play.

I don't get this assumption. Outside of FFA they have the same game modes. It requires the same amount of "teamwork".
Yes, but the way the games are played are drastically different.

The rampant stuns and knockdowns create the need for more teamwork.

The really good players don't spray and pray, they spray and hit 90% of their bullets. If they catch you moving in a straight line or standing still they will chunk 80% of your life before you know it.

Not only that, they can aim while sporadically moving themselves.
Well, the communities are pretty much the same. In Gunz 1, the community justified the glitches by saying that they made the game more fun. In Gunz 2, the community justifies the problems by saying they promote teamwork.

Yup. It's odd. It's like the risk reward scale for the game is off because of how stuns work across the board. Blocking is... Just weak. Very weak. With weapons that barely block bullets and there being so many way to get stuned, you're already dead before you deflect the first attack. I miss the Block and counter aspect of Gunz one because It gave a reason to block where you could make your own openning for yourself and your team. Mess that up and you died. Hit them with it and usually they'd die instead. I think they are making steps in the right direction... But there's still a lot if fine tuning, even if they are going for a more 'Team Tactics' Type of game.
A bit off-topic, but RS with shotties is the most 'spray' thing to ever grace a tps, short of Max's rolling thunder series.
RS isn't a shotgun...
when i used to play att n def. there was always one retarded kid that had no clue what was going on in the map and was walking around with his akimbo smgs. People like this are writing review on the game
