apparently hacks were common for a time, cross server play requires inviting and more than caring about the updates players hate the game being different from gunz 1.

hacks, understandable, still its not that bad of a game, cant you just kick hackers?

Check steamcharts(.)com/app/242720 and you will see why it's hard to get a game going. There are other factors but i think the low player count is the biggest problem.
About kicks, i played next to no matchs to remember if it was an available feature.

primary reason was being different from gunz 1 like above said.

second reason its dead because all the original players got older and had lives to live.
both gunz 1 and 2 were niche games, so the impact of that is larger.

then new players see the hacks, being locked to specific regions, the P2P system, the already low player count even when it was most popular, the MASSIVE skill gap, the cash shop (although nowhere near as bad as it COULD be, it still exists which is enough to put new players off)

because the queue system , no more actualizations , the average skill from pro players and
problems with connection

I rarely saw a hacker in this game, what you can do is bug the game to get more money or to run K-Style

overall they failed to market it to 12y olds to keep it alive it seems.. hackers, shop, skill gap, seem like good reasons but its way worse in other games like cs go, but that game is still alive and well.
hopefully one day some adequate publisher will do a proper marketing campaign. the only thing i think they need to fix if its a problem, is to match noobs with noobs and pros with pros.

don't underappreciate it, i hopped from chat to chat to get people to gather and rarely they reply, if that's how it goes for the chat that they already joined, imagine getting them to look for other players (in servers different from their own) like i did. They just stare at the main menu and then leave or stay afk, i don't get it.

to hop to a chat from a different server, open the tab of "public channel list" and then go to the guide steamcommunity(.)com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=280305617 to select which country chat you want to check out (it won't show up in the public lists, you must join them manually)
