gunz2: people using mostly ivan because they think that they can snipe but in the end an elena named 5onic will kill them
GunZ 2 is a team game and there isn't any pro level team stuff happening anymore.
The competetive scene died for this game after the north american tournement and the last KR UGL TE event.
In my opinion, 1v1 isn't fun to watch and it isn't a fulfilling expierence in GunZ 2.
In Arena Shooters(Quake, Unreal, Relex, ect) 1v1 is actually exciting to watch and isn't just some boring snipe battle.
It's difficult to commentate a game like GunZ 2 in 1v1's because there isn't much going on.
In Team Elimination it's a completely different story, because that's the mode the game was built for at a competetive level. It's a lot easier to commentate 4v4's.
2v2's are ok, but I'd love to play in another 4v4 even before the player count drops to 0.
skill wise gunz 1 is way more demanding than gunz 2. I remember practicing for hours in training rooms just to get my combos straight, there were so much to learn you would not even believe it. there are still private servers around like freestyle, it is worth it if you want to experience gunz 1.
what took me about a year to accomplish here on gunz 2 took me 5 to 6 years on gunz 1, and I have yet to learn all the techniques on gunz 1.
gunz 2 could have been a good game though, it was well thought and most importantly, fast paced. it is unfortunate it did not work out.
EDIT: Thinking a bit more i guess GunZ 1 was more finger skillz. GunZ 2 is more uhhh everything else like aiming, strategy, teamwork and composition as well as having situational awareness reaction, timing, character placement based on surroundings and enemy movement/disposition, uhhhhh ZZZZZZ POWER MANAGEMENT, as well as just plain spidey senses. I remember GunZ 1 just being very dependant of knowing combos and having decent aim mainly (no not aimbot and no not real aim like GunZ 2 -- these were shotguns 99% of the time, remember?). How many times did you die from E stylers, or god forbid a D styler? Even an N styler could compete -- EUYGHKFFFFPL! switch > shoot > repeat won me many a battle back then and so did block(hold) > slash > repeat. Sad realizing it wasnt worth the carpal tunnel!
