Also, you guys can't be serious about bringing back the original game. Really, K-STYLE was the most pathetic thing that ever came out from an online multiplayer game. How people could have fun just dashing and spamming melee attacks in midair. It was just stupid. Gunz 2 was much better.
The last reason is: the inevitable. Most of those PvP versus games ends up suffering from low player base after a couple years. Just look at For Honor for example, it is basically at the same state with just some thousands of players playing daily. But the big difference is that Ubisoft still updates the game with new content from time to time, and that makes old players comes back to check them for a while or a few new players to show up.
Id be content if they moved gunz 1 over and hopefully balanced out alot of the cosmetics to just that instead of pay2win.
Heck I would "buy it" for an a steam release.
Hate to bust your bubble but unless your playing vs bots that cant pass the turing test its not really different in gunz 2 you just get less out of it speed wise and therefore have to mash dash more (also dosent help that wall running sideways isnt the thing it was in 1).
Its literally the exact same thing charcters in gunz 2 but with animation locks and angeling not really mattering for hitstun/blockstun/escaping hitstun.
Also 1 died becus Igunz died and Ijj died off as a platform as times changed.
While it is easy to blame private servers, this actually wasn't the case. MAIET simply stopped caring a long time ago.
Think about it, GunZ 1 released officially on ijji in 2007, in 2008 or so, they were already announcing a sequel to the original game. The updates which ijji had to apply for took weeks which then turned into months, then eventually no more updates were being pushed from MAIET's side. They stopped caring about GunZ 1, put all of their focus on GunZ 2, and look how that turned out.
No more updates being given to ijji/Aeria + no more money to be made = publishers discontinue the service (end of they day they were a business, they need to make money)
If MAIET cared, they would've pursued legal action against private servers like other game developers do to other illegal game servers out there.
Fast forward to GunZ 2 release, they stopped caring about this game too, they saw it was a huge flop, and by then the company was in deep financial difficulty that they had to sell whatever assets they had. (Enter Masangsoft).
TL;DR - MAIET stopped caring at an early stage, private servers opened, source code got leaked, servers ended up taking over. In short, private servers is what kept this game alive for SO LONG.
**laughs hysterically**
everyone share this link.
They need to bring back the original GunZ to steam.
This game has the potential to become a e-sport.
Gunz 2 ruined it. Kstyle made the game different.
