Singleplayer, Skirmish, Open world?

If I am only interested in SinglePlayer, can I still play this game or is the SinglePlayer more or less just a tutorial for multi-player?

Is there some kind of Skimish or Open World or is the game "dead" for me after the story? There is a story, right?

There is a storymode that's basically like a really long movie where you control the fight scenes (really awesome though). There's a whole load of missions (single player fights with objectives) in the 'S.T.A.R Labs' mission list, an Arcade mode with numerous different ways to play (classic, low health, combos only, etc..) as well as single fight which is just like it sounds. Also a tutorial.

Thank you, to my wishlist it goes, perhaps to my games list in the next days.

This summer sale sucks. I have to check games with real discounts if they are good instead of buying the games I want.
