It's kind of a double edged sword of a system that forces you to play other characters, which isn't bad. Only problem is I can't ever seem to get any quality epics or set pieces with bonuses for characters I play. The "tower" I spent 3 hours on which guaranteed a platinum chest at the end turned out to be unbeatable because of how the game was designed with gear in mind & how the AI for the very last fight at the top of the tower went from challenging to downright impossible.
Their games' "difficulty" levels go like this:
1. Training dummy
2. Training dummy with intermittent epileptic fits
3. Welcome to die.
There's no playing the CPU in NRS games, much less honing one's skills against it. It actually makes one worse at their games proper; because, in order to win, the player has to cheese out the computer-controlled opponents. There is no other way to win. From there, the player develops poor gameplay patterns and habits that do not translate well into the PvP arena.
About the only PvCPU play worth suffering in NRS games is against their infamously cheesy bosses. For in those battles, there is no shame in exploiting CPU shortcomings, and there's even an odd sense of achievement from accomplishing thus.
Lastly, the script in NRS fighters also insults players, by literally letting them win after a few successive losses! This pattern began with MK9, AFAIK, and has only gotten more in-your-face blatant with each game since (NB: The opponent will all but stand there, after the player loses to it a few times). Interesting (or, perhaps scathingly), players often do not even notice said noob cosseting "A.I." pattern; often even proffering advice to hapless players complaining about the CPU difficulty ╾ under the false pretence that they themselves are improving / getting better on merit! lol
tl;dr ╾ Never play the NRS "A.I." unless it's for unlockables... and even then, it's best to use a trainer to just skip through it all. Nothing can be gained from doing it and brain cells will - be - lost.
Then I noticed the AI is either too easy or too hard with few inbetweens.
how?
try looking at the AI when fighting, when its a boss battle...
it skips stand up animations and does instant hits from the ground ! like wtf?
its on the ground now, 0.00001 ms after that you are in the air because it performed an uppercut? wasnt it on the ground? yes it was...
how did it perform an uppercut without going through stand up animation?
well AI !
this was just an example :/
