- The Arena will be revamped into a league format starting Apr. 14.
: Leagues of up to 10,000 Summoners will be created, and tally rewards will be given according to your rank within the league.

- Arena tally and victory point reset will be held biweekly.

: [SP Summon] is a summon with a slightly higher summon rate than other summons for new Monsters. An [SP Summon] menu will appear for applicable scrolls during the event.
: [SP Summons] can be performed in all summons, except for Ancient Transcendence Scrolls, 11-Year Ancient Transcendence Scrolls, 11-Year Special Scrolls, Engraved Scrolls, Monster Piece Summons, Guild Summons, SWC Scrolls, and other summons where you select a summon list. The summoning currency, scrolls, and Blessings used remain the same.
: Beetle Guardian can also be summoned with a fixed chance through a normal [Summon].

▶ [Battle Training Ground] New Mock Battle Featuring Beetle Guardian
- You can enter the Battle Training Ground after building it from [Shop > Building]. (Required Summoner Level: 12)

- You can now see the local time for each server in the server selection screen.

- The storage expansion button has been added to the Manage screen of [Runes, Artifacts, and Gems/Grindstones], and the button UI for storage expansion under [Monster > Rune/Artifact] has been improved to be more identifiable.

- [Siege Battle] You can now view replays shared by guild members under [Info > Attack/Defense]
- [Siege Battle] You can now see the number of remaining attack chances on the Guild Tower and the Guild Tower pop-up even during the additional attack period.
- [Steam] A configuration feature for controllers has been added to [Settings > Options].
- A confirmation pop-up has been added to double-check when Summoners below Lv. 50 attempt to use a Devilmon as a power-up material for 4★ or lower Monsters.

- Fixed an issue where the beneficial effect removal and Glancing Hit effect of (Fire) Pioneer's [Sleeve Attack] did not apply to targets defended by Monsters such as (Water) Beast Monk or to (Wind) Specter Princess.
- Fixed an issue where (Wind) Barbaric King's [Resentment] did not trigger the [Berserk] effect when used on defended targets or (Wind) Specter Princess.

We're back with another Developer's Preview to discuss the second part of the 11th Anniversary Update.For our team, reading all the diverse opinions from Summoners after posting dev-related notices is one of our great joys.
The Siege Battle revamp from the previous Developer’s Preview has been applied starting Season 18 on Mar. 31.
We hope you enjoy the newly updated Siege Battle and look forward to hearing your valuable feedback.

Let's dive into the topics we have prepared today.

<New Fire/ Water/ Wind Attribute Bosses in Rift Raid>

* Rift Raid bosses of Fire, Water, and Wind Attributes dropping specific types of Grindstones will be added to make Grindstone farming more efficient.
* We are reviewing the bosses’ skill sets to create a meaningful challenge without making team building for boss raids overly burdensome.
* The existing Chaos Beast Khi'zar Kha'jul will remain as a neutral attribute raid boss that drops all Grindstones.
* Below is an overview of the skills and rewards for each boss.

Other than the changes in the [Rageful Roar] skill seen below, the rest of the skills will remain the same as the Chaos Beast.

<Grindstone and Gem Usability Improvement>

* We plan to improve the usability of Grindstones and Gems by retaining amplified values of a grinded sub property even when a Gem is used on the sub property.

Let’s say a Rune has a SPD +7 sub property obtained through Gem conversion.
After amplifying it with a SPD +5 Grindstone, the sub property becomes SPD +12.

If you then use a SPD Legend Gem to convert it to SPD +10:

As-is: The grinded value is removed, resulting in SPD +10.
To-be: The grinded value remains, resulting in SPD +15 (Gem +10, Grindstone +5).

* Currently, using a Gem of the same sub property resets the amplified value, forcing you to rely on Gems to get a satisfactory result before using a Grindstone.
With this change, you can apply Grindstones first without worrying about losing the amplified value.
* However, using a Gem of a different sub property will still remove the amplified sub property and grant a new sub property.
* The addition of Attribute Raid Bosses and the usability improvements for Grindstones and Gems are scheduled for release in the late April update.

<Early April Update Schedule>

* The game will be updated to v8.6.9 on Apr. 12 to introduce [Arena & Arena Interserver Battle revamp], [Monster & Arena background art renewal], and [11th anniversary events] discussed in the previous Developer's Preview.
* We would also like to share the details on the new Arena rank requirements below as many Summoners were keen to see how the Arena league restructuring will pan out.

<Siege Battle Rune Separation Update Plan>

* We are actively working to resolve some key issues related to the Siege Battle Rune separation.
* We expect to introduce this update by the end of May.

- [Siege Battle] When attacking a 4★ Base, the sorting criteria in the Monster Storage on the battle preparation screen have been improved to prioritize 4★ Monsters. The same prioritization is also applied when modifying defense formations of 4★ Bases.
- [Mission > Achievement] The number notification indicating available rewards will now be displayed based on the number of achievements completed.
- [Android] When the screen resolution changes during gameplay on certain devices (e.g., Galaxy Fold), the screen will now be automatically adjusted accordingly.

▶ Game Error Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the [Unrecoverable] text did not appear for Monsters granted with the [Recovery] beneficial effect and [Unrecoverable] harmful effect.
- [Summoner's Way > Challenge] Fixed an issue where missions that require the inclusion of specific Monsters could not be completed when clearing on Abyss floors.

Developer's Preview #2: 11th Anniversary Update

We’re back with the second [Developer’s Preview].

First, we sincerely appreciate your overwhelming interest and feedback on the first Developer’s Preview.

Updates such as the Hall of Magic improvements, World Arena Monster Info menu, and Rune/Artifact management enhancements were implemented in February, and we are thrilled to see your positive response.

We also look forward to your excitement about the upcoming Siege Battle revamp, which is scheduled for a late March update.

Today, we’re here to share details about the 11th Anniversary Update.

As we prepared to celebrate 11 years of Summoners War, we took a step back to reflect on the game and discuss improvements to make it more engaging.

Through careful deliberation, we’ve planned a series of updates spanning April and May introducing major revamps to Arena, Arena Interserver Battle, and Rift Raid/Dungeon, along with various QoL improvements and system updates.

To thoroughly cover these changes, we’ll be releasing two Developer’s Previews dedicated to the 11th Anniversary Update.

This preview will focus on the Arena and Arena Interserver Battle revamps, along with Monster and background art renewals scheduled for April.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the second [Developer’s Preview]!

<Arena Revamp in Progress>

* We are reviewing the introduction of a new Arena League only for new Summoners to help new Summoners enjoy the content better.

* We are also working on restructuring the Arena League system to address rank disparity and balance issues caused by different server populations.

1. Rookie League for New Summoners
- Many new Summoners struggle to enjoy Arena due to the gap in experience with veteran Summoners. To address this, we will introduce a rookie league exclusively for new Summoners.
- Summoners will automatically be placed in the Rookie League upon entering Arena for the first time and will remain there for at least four weeks. Afterward, they can choose to stay in the Rookie League or move to the regular Arena League at their own pace.
- To encourage progression, rewards in the Rookie League will be adjusted, making it a stepping stone into the regular Arena League. Additionally, one-time milestone rewards will be available for reaching specific ranks.
- Like the regular Arena, the Rookie League will have its own grading system and ranking structure, with rank tallying and victory point compression occurring every two weeks.

2. 10,000-Player Arena Leagues
- Currently, the difficulty of achieving certain Arena grades varies significantly based on server population.
For instance, reaching Punisher ★ requires placing in the top 1,000, making competition much tougher on servers with higher population.
- To address this imbalance, Arena will be restructured into multiple 10,000-player leagues. After each Arena season ends, Summoners will be grouped into leagues of up to 10,000 active players.

For example, if 78,400 Summoners are playing Arena on a server, they will be assigned to one of eight leagues of around 9,800 players.
- With this structure, each league will have its own ranking system to ensure that grade distribution remains consistent across all servers. This means that if a server has eight leagues, it will also have eight Legend players.

3. Arena Tallying & Victory Point Compression Cycle Update
- Currently, Arena tallying is conducted weekly, whereas victory point compression occurs every two weeks. This schedule has caused confusion among Summoners regarding the timing of point compression.

To improve clarity, tallying and compression will now both occur once every two weeks.

- We are also carefully reviewing adjustments to tallying rewards to ensure that their value remains consistent with this new cycle.

4. Arena Interserver Battle Revamp
- Currently, Arena Interserver Battle selects the top 10,000 Arena players from each server, which creates a more competitive environment for highly populated servers.
- To address this, instead of selecting 10,000 players per server, 2,500 players from each league (excluding the Rookie League) will qualify.
We expect this measure to allow more players from densely populated servers to qualify for Arena Interserver Battle and encourage fairer competition among leagues.
- With this change, Arena Interserver Battle will be a showdown between two 2,500-player teams from different servers, instead of a server-wide competition.
- The Interserver Battle schedule, previously spanning five weeks with a three-week break, will now align with the new two-week Arena cycle.
- These changes are scheduled to go live in mid-April, following the conclusion of the current Arena Interserver Battle season.

<Monster & Background Art Renewal>

* As Summoners War celebrates its 11th year, we believe it’s time to revisit and improve some of the early Monster models and background art.

1. Monster Model Renewal
- We will gradually update the models of some of the oldest Monsters in the game.
- The first batch includes 13 Monsters: Slime, Shroomy, Surprise Box, Howl, Elemental, Garuda, Inugami, Joker, Vampire, Undine, Dragon, Oracle, and Chimera.
- These updates will not be a one-time renewal but a continuous improvement process, with the next round planned for late 2025.
- Along with visual upgrades, their skill animations will also be improved. However, only base Monster models will be updated, and Transmogrifications will remain unchanged.
- To showcase these updates, please take a look at the before-and-after comparison image.

2. Arena Background Art Renewal
- Over the years, we have gradually updated various in-game backgrounds, such as Garen Forest, Mt. Siz, and the Cairos Dungeon update in 2023.
- In April, we will renew the Arena background, including defense towers and mini zoom-in view of defense towers, to enhance the overall Arena experience.

<Additional Siege Battle Improvements>

1. Increased database load from managing additional Runes.

We are excited to introduce [Developer's Preview], a new type of notice designed to enhance communication with you.

Unlike the dev notes, which provide detailed update information with images once development is nearly complete, [Developer's Preview] will be shared earlier in a brief report format. This will give you insights into upcoming updates, key concerns, and the overall direction the development team is considering for the game.

Since [Developer's Preview] covers content from the early planning stages, it will primarily focus on broader concepts and overarching ideas. As development progresses, some details may change or even be canceled. While we understand the risks of discussing features that are still in development, we believe the value of sharing our thoughts and ideas with you in advance outweighs those concerns.

If any changes occur to the content shared in [Developer's Preview], we will provide a follow-up notice explaining the revisions in detail.

Also, the introduction of [dev preview] does not mean that there will be no more [dev notes].

[Dev preview] and [dev notes] will be shared in a timely manner to bring you interesting news.

Without further ado, here is the first [dev preview]!

<Siege Battle Revamp>

* A revamp of Siege Battle is being prepared to bring new energy and encourage diverse strategies in the guild content.

* The revamp will be applied starting from the next Siege Battle season, Season 18.

1. New Map
- We have updated the battlefield map in Season 16. We believe the change has added new energy to Siege Battle to some extent as the new map allowed for various new base-occupying strategies.

- Five different map designs are under review and being tested to ensure that we can provide a more enjoyable gameplay experience in the upcoming season. Furthermore, we are considering implementing periodic map changes in the future if necessary.

2. Post-Battle Base Attack
- We are planning to allow guild members who were unable to participate in Siege Battle to still earn individual rewards by attacking bases after the battle is over.

- Since these attacks will take place after the Siege Battle results are determined, they will not affect Siege Points. Also, to maintain the value of attacks staged during the active battle period, the rewards for post-battle attacks will be less significant than those earned during the active battle period.

3. Non-Attack Member Trial Attack
- Guild members who are not attack members will be granted the same number of trial attack attempts as the actual attack attempts.

- These trial attack attempts can only be used against defense decks that have been defeated.

- Trial attack results will not affect Siege Points, contribution, or victory points. Trial attack rewards will only bring small individual rewards.

- Trial attack results will not be recorded, giving non-attack members a chance to enjoy Siege Battle alongside other guild members without pressure.

4. Victory Point Amount Change
- In the current Siege Battle system, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place guilds all earn victory points, putting guilds that do not participate in Siege Battles at a disadvantage when tallying rankings. As a result, guilds were continuously compelled to engage in Siege Battles from the start to the end of the season.

- We are considering adjusting the victory point table while maintaining the difference in points gained by 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. The total amount of victory points earned would be slightly reduced, with a particular focus on lowering the points gained for 3rd place. With these adjustments, we hope to provide guilds with enough victory points to occasionally take a break from Siege Battles without falling behind in rankings.

5. New Guild Victory Point Boost
- We have observed cases where newly formed guilds, including those composed of experienced Summoners, take a considerable amount of time to reach their appropriate grade from 1,000pts.

- To help newly formed guilds participating in Siege Battle reach their proper rank more quickly, we are discussing the possibility of granting victory point boosts.

6. Siege Battle Tournament Rule Change
- We have been continuously exploring ways to improve the current system where a single final battle plays a huge role in determining the Siege Battle Tournament qualifying guilds after a four-month-long season.

- We adjusted the victory points distribution table in the April 2024 Siege Battle revamp to address this, but the issue was not fully resolved.

- We are planning to increase the number of guilds that can qualify for the Siege Battle Tournament. Additionally, the Transmogrifications available as a Siege Battle season reward will be given starting from Round 2, encouraging guilds to aim for at least one tournament victory.

- A total of 32 guilds will be able to participate in the Siege Battle Tournament. With this, the tournament will consist of six rounds.

- With the addition of participating guilds and rounds, we will actively implement seeding to ensure that the top 8 guilds still play the same number of rounds as before. The number of guilds receiving the Transmogrification reward will also stay the same.

<Hall of Magic and Attribute Dungeon Improvement>

* It has come to our attention that obtaining Attribute Essences in the Hall of Magic can sometimes be an inconvenience when solely farming for Essences of Magic.

* We plan to remove Attribute Essence drops from the Hall of Magic and keep all Attribute Dungeons permanently open.

<World Arena Monster Info Improvement>

* For the v.8.5.7 update, we had initially planned to introduce a feature allowing players to view World Arena Monster info to enhance accessibility and encourage the use of a wider variety of monsters. However, we realized that disclosing Rune and Artifact details of World Arena Monsters to friends and guild members might cause inconvenience for some Summoners, and the update was put on hold.

* We will remove such Rune/Artifact disclosure feature from the update specifications, and we will instead improve the current Monster-sharing system, allowing you to share multiple Monsters at once. This will allow you to share your Rune and Artifact setups more conveniently with friends and guild members when needed.

* Furthermore, the display of [Monsters frequently used together in World Arena] and [Rune/Artifact usage statistics for World Arena] will be updated under Monster Info as previously announced.

* Hall of Magic and World Arena Monster Info menu improvements will be applied during the v8.6.2 update, the first update scheduled for February.

<Rune/Artifact Management Feature Update>

* There have been continuous QoL updates to help you manage your large collection of Runes and Artifacts.

* Another round of improvements to further enhance the Rune and Artifact management system is being prepared for an update towards late February.

1. Temporary Check Function in Rune Advanced Settings
- This feature will allow you to mark specific Rune combinations among multiple generated results, making it easier to compare and review selected setups more efficiently.

2. MAX Grind Setting Feature in Rune Advanced Settings
- It may be difficult to evaluate and compare ungrinded Runes with fully-grinded ones based solely on their sub property values.

- A MAX grind setting feature will be added to let you compare Runes based on their maximum possible grind values.

3. Rune Prefix Search Feature in Rune Management
- We plan to add a filter to view Runes with a prefix property, letting you find Runes with prefix properties for reappraisal more easily.

4. Rune/Artifact Sub Property Detailed Search [& Down] Filter
- In addition to the existing [& up] search option, the new [& down] search option will be added to Sub Property Detailed Search to allow you to filter Runes with a more precise and defined range of sub properties.

- Fixed an issue where the summon dialogue for Collab Characters is displayed in [Summonhenge] under certain conditions when summoning with Monster Summoning Pieces.
- Fixed an issue where the walking motion of some Monsters appeared unnatural when entering battle.
- Fixed an issue where the UI for the end notice pop-up of Repeat Battle was partially visible during battle in Hashira Training.
- Fixed an issue where closing the battle preparation screen of stages of cleared difficulty redirected you to the stage of the difficulty currently in progress.
- Fixed an issue where your ranking information remained unchanged when changing the week under [Minigame > Rank].
- Fixed an issue where the details of battles fought in the previous guild were displayed abnormally under [Member > Battle Info > Offense Log] in [World Guild Battle] after the Summoner joined a different guild.
- Corrected the description in Water, Wind, and Light Tomb Warden's [Coffin Bash] skill description. (Unrecoverable → Unrevivable)
- Fixed an issue where the order of harmful effects applied by the second hit of (Dark) Tanjiro Kamado's [Constant Flux] was reversed.
: The first and second hits will now decrease Defense first and then grant Irresistible.

▶ Skill descriptions of some Monsters have been modified.
