Game lags badly along with screen flickering black

I've tried reinstalling the game but that doesn't seem to work, the game runs very choppy. When i first launch the game it runs smoothly but when i start a run with a character that's when it begins lagging. The screen flickering is bassicly random parts of the screen flashing black for a few moments. The game used to run very well but idk what happened. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advnace,

What operating system are you using? I'm not sure what could be causing these issues.

Um so i fixed it i guess, its really embarrasing but I apperently had to toggle fullscreen which I don't really understand why its fixed because of that. It still stutters sometimes but It's playable, its mostlikely a problem with my pc but (Thank you) and sorry for the concern and thanks again

There have been serious issues caused by windows 10 when the game is running fullscreen so I wouldn't pin it on your PC just yet. A while ago a Windows 10 update started really messing with the GameMaker engine and usually turning off fullscreen solved any problem (Most people would just get full on black screens with only sound.)
