Nuclear Throne
Any way to change key bindings?
Obviously there aren't any menus in which to do such a thing yet, but is there any way to dig into some files and switch stuff around, for example? I guess as a lefty I should be more vigilant about things like this, but I guess the excitement of trying the game got to me too much to think clearly. WASD isn't impossible to use with the right hand, but it's sure not comfortable either. Anything I can do?

Right now the key bindings are hard coded so I don't think there is a way to change them unless you decompile the game and change it yourself. If you are talking about movement keys only then you can use the arrow keys too. Also, in the future the key bindings will be able to be configured to what you want them to be.
Well, for the moment I made a custom keyboard layout so that WASD is mapped to IJKL, which is a pretty dumb way of doing it, but it should probably work (about to test it). Hooray for doing things in silly ways!

EDIT: D'oh, it doesn't.

Hey there, thanks for posting! There are a couple of alternative control schemes already built in. You could use the arrow keys and control or shift to pick up weapons. Space, q or the scroll wheel/middle mouse button all swap weapons.

Eventually we'll add customizable controls,, but that'll still take a while. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Oh, dang! I tried using enter to pick up weapons, but not shift! Awesome; now I don't have to perform weird contortionist stuff with my right hand. Thanks! <3

A little love for your neighbours that have to live with an AZERTY keyboard would be nice as well :)

Darn, AZERTY changes both A and Z. We'll need to look into that, shouldn't be too hard.

Hi, no news of an update to be able to use azerty keyboard?
Thanks

What I do now is just use the language bar to change the KB layout to qwerty when launching the game but an ingame option would indeed be nice tot have but steen that key mapping will eventually make it info the game it's only a minor incovenience for me. The game is certainly worth that extra click :-)

Kafarnaüm, it's not high on the priority list, because we'll implement key mapping at some point. Verso113's tip for now is a wonderful solution, but rest assured that in the final game this will not be a problem.

I also changed my keyoard to qwerty, no biggy. I understand this is not high priority. Really great job this far!

Hey, everyone who's looking to do keybindings, go get GlovePIE. Great free program for doing keybindings and such. You just write a super-duper simple script to do it. For example, if I wanted to map WASD to IJKL then I would put;

I = W
J = A
K = S
L = D

into the window and hit "run". Easy peasy. I've already tested it with Nuclear Throne, works like a charm! ;D

I look forward to being able to do a bit of rebinding. Most of the secondary powers feel more fitting to me on my mouse's thumb button (mouse4) rather than right mouse button.

GlovePIE can handle those too, if you feel so inclined to use it. Minimal work is needed, I can help with a script for it if you want.

Well, I'm not using the qwerty/qwertz layout. I have to reach on my keyboard from the arrow keys so I can't play the game.

I am using NEO 2 btw. Good luck working around that :>
