How different is this game actually from Wasteland Kings?

Watching the gameplay video, I didn't really see any new characters or features and the art still looks the same etc. I love vlambeer games and wasteland kings was the best game to come out of the mojam but I'm not really willing to drop the money on a game I already have unless they actually changed something. If someone who has it could tell me whats new or link me to something that does that I'd appreciate it.

From what I've played so far, it has three new characters (and slots for three more that you either have to unlock or will just come later on), quite a few new weapons, some new perks, boss enemies, and some new regular enemies enemies, especially in stage three which seems to be redesigned in a big way.

As I know, this IS Wasteland Kings. There was some problem with copyright about word "Wasteland" and new "Wasteland 2" game.

New characters, new weapons, new character sprites and level tiles, re-recorded music and tweaked gameplay.
Very much worth a purchase, especially if you enjoyed the Mojam prototype.

I'm pretty sure that the mojam bundle 2 promised whatever prototypes came out of the 78 hour-or-so period. I don't think any promises were given for all future content developed based on the prototypes. So.... good luck with that.

Vlambeer have put several months of additional work into the game to produce fresh character sprites and level tiles, add new characters and weapons, re-record the soundtrack, record new sound effects and tweak the mechanics. The developers deserve to be paid for their work to improve the game, and for the future work they will undertake to add more content as development continues.

Consider Nuclear Throne to Wasteland Kings the same as Ridiculous Fishing to Radical Fishing or LUFTRAUSERS to LUFTRAUSER. They have the same soul, but they're made from scratch. The graphics are improved drastically, there's better music, better generation, more characters, more weapons and there'll be more and more as we continue.

Since you mentioned it, just out of curiosity, What's up with LUFTRAUSERS? Any chance of a release date?

For LUFTRAUSERS, we're still waiting so much for TRC confirmation. We've been working on it a bit today as well, in between launching the game, but we really really hope it'll go through soon. When it does, Sony will provide us with a launch date!

Awesome to hear, I've been stoked for it ever since I saw the trailer. I'll be picking up Nuclear Throne this weekend to keep me tied over til then.

Wasteland Kings is a free game my friend. And yes it's a very early build (the first playable one) of Nuclear Throne. There's a download link for it on the Nuclear Throne Wiki frontpage.
