Auto Crossbow: Best Gun?

seems so, fav setup is crossbow/autocrossbow+gl/bazooka. but lazer weapons(pistol,rifle) r working very good vs crowds too. minigun is awesome but ammo is flying away so fast.
/e and, btw, smg is very badass weapon too. it may be bad in sewers but it's rly good in the open. it's like smaller version of minigun. and if u r playing as a robot u have no problems with ammo. plasma isn't good at all, yes. and hyperrifle has the highest dps.

Chain Saw sucks, it uses explosive ammo. Huge damage but not really that effective.

And I agree with Laser weapons being really nice, I will always grab the pistol/rilfe if available.

Almost every amazing run ive had was because of the auto crossbow. An absolute no brainer pick up for me. Crossbow weapons seem to outclass energy weapons in every way except fire rate. Hell, even ammo is easier to refill.

Screwdriver is actually super fast, so it's not as bad as you'd think.
So far plasma gun (the few times I could actually use it) is as useless as discgun. I just don't like those two for some reason.

Maybe make the plasma ball explode when it hits something, then that would be fun.

Chainsaw is surprisingly good if you don't panic and realise one keypress will give you a good amount of hits. It's like an automatic screwdriver.

The triple machine gun is almost always a no no.
Tox bow is almost always a no because it slows me down too much (waiting for the gas to disperse)

My casual loadout is Machine Gun and Slugger. (I may pick up the Assault Rifle for Crystal Caves and Frozen City.)
If I see a Flak Cannon or a Double Shotgun, I'll pick it up to replace the Slugger - ONLY if I'm Y.V.
Sometimes I'll replace my bullet weapons for crossbows, if I'm Robot and I have Back Muscle.

I run with the splinter crossbow and the slugger. Shovel is high on the priority list

Crossbow is a guaranteed pickup for me unless I already have a slugger with 30+ shells. I don't know if its the best weapon in the game but it's the one I'm best with. It's incredibly ammo efficient if you can aim it well due to piercing.

My top 3 weapons.
1. xbow/a-xbow
2. Assualt rifle
3. slugger/a-slugger

My best runs are usually the result of AR/xbow. If I don't get an AR I'll often stick to the revolver. I think it's actually a good weapon and once you get a feel for enemy hp values you'll have little ammo waste. I like the concept of melee weapons but if I don't get long arms mutation before world 3 it's normally suicide to get in close. Also, would only pick long arms AFTER getting shovel/sledgehammer and even then, I'd have to have a crappy gun to invest in a melee run.

The plasma gun is actually not bad. It hurts everything in an area around it, so you don't even have to really aim. The projectile is misleading. Give it another go.

Flak gun is crazy good as well as the blood launcher
but only got them once each

usually go for the for grenade launcher/bazooka with an assault rifle
or slugger/crossbow with an assault rifle

Have some BFG like effect of lightning around the plasma ball, if it's actually damaging further than the sprite indicates!

My best runs always involve an automatic weapon for close range (to clear the clutter) and another automatic that deals with the long range (auto-crossbow!). Or, having a bazooka is always helpful.
