The Super Plasma Cannon is an unholy abomination that should not exist.
Let me preface this by saying that I am an exceedingly mediocre player. On a good day, I might be able to make it into the top 60 on the daily (even then, I have to rely on Horror or Plant). I am very inconsistent and have a tendency toward making panicky mistakes.

Today, I had the good fortune to find the Super Plasma Cannon four levels into the first loop. Now, I really enjoy the Plasma Cannon. It's a very strong weapon, and almost every single one of my best runs had me picking it up at some point. However, I had not been able to get the super version up until today. A couple of days ago, Devil Azite got a score over 10,000 using the Super Plasma Cannon (henceforth referred to as the "SPC"), so I thought, "What the heck. Might as well give it a try."

My first indication of things to come arrived on 3-2 of Loop 1, where I had an exceedingly bad spawn. Stuck in the middle of a pack of spiders and rats, all I could do was shoot the SPC and hope for the best. That one shot destroyed enough enemies to have Anomaly instantly open the portal to the next level. On 3-3, one shot was enough to annihilate Big Dog and clear the exceedingly cluttered screen.

On 4-1, I had terrible luck. I realized something was wrong when my game slowed down to a crawl. Everything was moving like it was underwater - clearly a sign of bad news. Sure enough - there were five Hyper Crystals. If I were using any other weapon, this would have been an exceedingly unpleasant, potentially deadly encounter. With the SPC, however, it was only a mild annoyance.

The remainder of Loop 1 and all of Loop 2 were uneventful. The typical strategy was to fire the SPC once at the beginning of a level, clearing the entire spawn area, then to methodically pick off any survivors. It helped that the SPC melted both Little Hunter and Throne 2 in one hit. By the third loop (a first for me), I was trailing a string of Crowns of Blood, and each cannon shot slowed the game down to the point of unplayability.

In the hands of somebody more skilled, I'm sure the SPC could have been converted into a daily-winning run, but I fell short of that by a small margin. I misfired the cannon on 3-3 of Loop 3 and died to a cloud of bullets before it could reload.

Now, if you don't feel like reading through six paragraphs of text, here is the takeaway:
The Super Plasma Cannon is monstrously overpowered. It is the Holy Grail of dailies. Finding it during a run will almost certainly guarantee a high score. I have a hard time thinking of anything else in the game that makes such a dramatic difference between success and failure. This does not strike me as even remotely fair. Therefore, Vlambeer, for the love of all that is good, nerf this ridiculous thing into the ground.

I actually have to agree, before it came out the best weapon you could get was the lighting cannon ok^ in combo with other good weapons but now well if you get that spc, well I consider it like 3 times better then the light cannon which already was a really strong weapon, the kind of weapon that you looked for pretty much in every game. it's hard to call OP stuff but well this is above that level.

I don't see a problem I mean I'd almost class the Jackhammer on the same level and that's been here forever :V

It uses a silly amount of ammo, has a 6 second reload time, massive screenshake, appears late into loops, and it should be nerfed? The thing is meant to be a silly amount of powerful.

Jackhammer + Fish + Water Boost is the killer combo. Loop 69, here I come!

According to the wiki, it drops as early as 7-1, which isn't particularly late for something that strong. The ammo cost is irrelevant, since enemy density on loops keeps you resupplied. The reload time is also largely irrelevant, since even firing it once is often enough to clear an entire level.

My suggestion is to make the Super Plasma Cannon an Ultra Weapon, with a corresponding rad cost. It was never meant to be used by mere mortals.

yeah, it does a freaking damage, but this have a great cost (24 ammo, the worst RoF...)

I suggest that it should show up on loop 1-1 or something like that, so you can't just rip through the throne after you get the super plasma cannon.

I kinda have to agree, while one side of me says that we should increase the damage more and make it even more OP, the other side deeply knows that it is way too strong.

imo just increase the reload time even more so you are seriously screwed when using it.

With the direction loops are going we might need more OP weapons like that. Oh and its drop area (7_1) should be changed soon.

Have you considered the Super Duper Omega Plasma Cannon? It fires projectiles that literally tear apart the fabric of spacetime, rearranging the individual atoms to create a universe where you are perpetually #1.

what if they also add a supermega slugger that shots 25 hits to balance things up.
nah nevermind but since everyone seems to want this weapon in the game badly and since it's stupidly strong compared to all other weapons what if they add a very late tier of weapons available let's say after loop 2 starts

It's like the Tammy's Head + Brimstone synergy in Binding of Isaac: It manages to instakill anything from the second you enter the room, meaning the entire game has turned into an easy autowin.

I don't mind OP, OP is fun when balanced right, but autowins should be avoided at all cost.

It's ment to be rare and overpowered, hence the name "super".
If you don't like it since it's too op then just ignore it and move on like people do with the stop watch.
