How to fight the Hyper crystal?

Im nearly a pro at lil hunter but this, thing, confuses me.

Here's what I do: approach it and spam it immediately. Be careful of the ones standing still since they just destroy a ton of walls when they explode and send undodgable lasers everywhere. I dont even know how they work either.

Is there a limit to how much it can spawn? Meaning I should take my time and perhaps like the crystals die out? Does that even happen?

The explo-crystals need more readability. Maybe if they were permanently red and vibrating?

no, it can spawn as much as it likes. my strategy is kill kill kill.

If you just so happen to have an energy sword or ultra shovel by then, use those just as it spawns a new bunch of orbiting crystals. You should hit all of them at once and quickly kill them, it even is profitable with the ultra shovel.

I always run melee so the only advice you'll get from me is long arms and spam your swings while strifing from side to side. Hyper crystal will have no chance.

Well I was hoping someone found out some of its maneuvours and if it's just best to let the thing spam out crystals and let them die out rather than unloading damage into it.

You sure it's as simple as endless crystals that dont die out over time?

I know how to kill the boss but i was thinking that maybe there's a better way than to just constantly hit it and then smash up the laser crystals once they come out.

Has anyone every taken their time with the boss? Like just let the crystals orbit about and see if shooting them is unnecessary?

I've only passed the hyper crystal about 5 times since it was updated, it was pretty cheap each time and IM just wondering if there was a better way to kill it. Much like collecting ammo from the from before finally killing it.

I think the crystals exploding need to be more predictable.

Other than that all I can suggest you is to take a "heavy-hitter" with you, as in a weapon which deals a lot of damage to a single target.

Seekers appear to be the worst thing you can use for this boss, as they will just spread out and don't kill the hyper crystal. Heavy crossbow, hyper slugger yadda yadda, then just focus the main crystal most of the time.

Works for me. I changed certain loadouts of mine, but it works.

So ye, just use hyper-slugger-ish weapons and spam the main crystal. Will be down in seconds.

If you're looking for most efficient way then I don't think there's a better one than spamming melee.
Other than that you can also try Ultra weapon spam since the crystals drop crapton of rads and ammo, it works in the same manner as the melee strat.

whatever yo do - don't let the boss complete his "spawning ritual" and allow the crystals orbit him in a big radius, that's just risky and wasting time.

The exploding crystals are pretty unpredictable for as far as I can see. They need to be more readable, and as for the spawning stuff I'm pretty sure it goes on forever. It's definitely better to just go crazy and kill the big one as soon as possible. Like Horheristo said, letting him spawn a lot of crystals is risky and not worth doing.
