A lot of time, because it drops randomly. Also the crown of guns nerfs you pretty hard.

oh, do you think the gun gun trick is better for getting the gold disc/nuke or just getting it in loop 2 or just doing hard mode?

I think it would be faster to do it in hard mode honestly. It takes a while to get to L2, and it doesn't take as long to get to 1-2 in Hard Mode.

But if you're good enough to consistently get far in L2, that might be the way to go, especially w/robot.

You're saying you can get tho Gun Gun in 1-2 if you're using the Crown of Guns?

And you can use it to get the Golden Nuke Launcher/Disc Gun???

Yeah, if you have a wrench+the gun gun you can hang out in a crown vault on hard mode farming ammo drops until you randomly get a golden nuke launcher or disc gun.

Hardmode resembles loop difficulty only when it comes to enemy spawns.
When it comes to weapons it's as if you started on 1-1 desert pre loop and as you continue it's even worse than on a regular run. The difficulty for weapons increases 3 times slower !

I will do a weapon chest drops table for hardmode cos i see people are confused as hell.

I updated where Gun Gun starts dropping yesterday, check the wiki on it. It's under Secret Weapons. There's no way you will get it faster on Hard Mode than in a regular run.

And this works because if you have a gun gun on 1-3 (which is 1-2's Crown Vault in difficulty) it can shoot out weapons from 10 difficulties higher (that's how the Gun Gun works). So you can RNG a Golden Nuke/Disc Gun.

It's an exploit. I wonder how Vlambo will handle this one. Farming a single enemy for hours to get an achievement is no bueno.

Golden Nuke/Disc Gun can drop only on Hard Mode. Info about that was also updated on the wiki. The wiki never said you can get them on loop 2 becouse that was never confirmed. But it seems you guys don't know a wiki exists even.

Of course the trick is better/safer and that's something that needs fixing.

I think changing Crown Guardian projectiles to not drop ammo/weapons is the best way to go Vlombo.

Also the Hardmode weapon drops table i mentioned, i'll do that probably after update 97 since it changes the drops for Hardmode.

I honestly don't see any harm in having a place where you can farm item drops. I'd just give the Golden Nuke and Disc Guns more definite spawn conditions, since they're apparently supposed to be kind of a big deal. Seems a little lackluster to have them as regular drops- even in hard mode-, don't you think?

Well, is there? I'd just make taking on the Crown Guardians riskier, maybe give them a gradually expanding Gamma Guts effect so that there's actually some danger to taking them on.

an enemy with a damage aura, one that expands at that, sounds pretty cool.

The crown guardians don't really need to be hard and an expanding damage aura sounds very unintuitive. There's nothing wrong with players figuring out a clever strategy to get around hard mode being kind of an unfair slog
