Hello. As one of the few Americans within the Nuclear Throne community I often feel out classed intellectually. Everyone using grandiose words and discussing vexing concepts; it makes my thinker box hurt. Hopefully in an exercise in empathy this challenge will attempt to bring everyone down to my special level. Credit for inspiration that is the sheer annoyance this challenge has become goes to Full Metal Alc.

The person who posts the furthermost single player recording of a Nuclear Throne while limiting their levels before July 12, 2014 will receive a game via steam (note the rules below).

Run Specific Rules:

• Any character can be used.
  
• Any weapons may be selected.
  
• Any mutations can be chosen.
  
• Starting with gold weapons is entirely acceptable.
  
• Any crowns may be picked except Crown of Destiny (because it causes level ups).
  
• The run ends when the character levels up (except on two levels) or dies; whichever happens first.
  
• On level 3_3 and 7_3 players are allowed to level up an unlimited number of times.
  
• Victory is based on distance.

Recording Rules: The run must be done with update 34. After the run ends please leave the death screen up for at least 5 seconds so the end level can be confirmed; the distance of the run will be determined by the death screen assuming it appears accurate (and thus will determine who wins). In the event of a lock up the last level that fully loaded (and was seen in the video) will be counted as the final level. The game cannot be modded aside from the use of recording software. The run must be done on a version of the game that all Nuclear Throne players have access to. The video must also be viewable in the U.S. so that I can confirm the run happened (strongly suggest Youtube or Twitch). The videos must be imbedded in responses to this post or have a direct link to the video in the response to this post. Do not put any visual or time related edits (aka cuts) into the video during the duration of the run. Audio edits and voice overs are fine. If you pause or go afk during the run just leave it in the video.
Win Rules: Players can post as many runs as they want as submissions as long as there is no obvious spam; players are also encouraged to post their best runs even if they do not win. If there is a tie I will give the win to the earliest unedited post in response to this; it will be based on when the response is made in steam and not when the video is made. If the post is edited after I have seen the video in an unedited post then it will still be accepted. Previous challenge winners can still win this challenge. Members of the Nuclear Throne Dev Team and people associated with the Dev Team can win the challenge. Whoever wins will have to accept their game through steam by using the friend system (yes, this means I will friend the winner to pass over the gift, no you are not required to keep me on the friends list after the exchange). The player who does the best in the challenge will be offered a game. (yes, games other than nuclear throne will be the reward although do not expect anything too new or expensive). If the “winning run” is done by someone who has won a challenge before then an additional game will be offered to the person with the best run who has not won a challenge yet; this will count as a win for that person.
Dates: The official end time for responses to this post will be at 11:59 pm on Friday, July 11th, 2014 (right before it becomes July 12th, 2014) based on the GMT time zone (but because I am a stupid American I MAY accept runs that are posted after that time). I should get around to claiming the victor and trying to contact them around July 12th, 2014 (but that is entirely on the basis that my internet provider remembers to pay their electric bills again).

Correct. The devs asked that I put up a placeholder post every week, but because this is Steam it cannot be hidden or anything; it has to be a full post. I have the same knowledge as everyone else so I have to wait and make sure the new update does not break the challenge. I'm also inclined to hold challenges until after the update to make sure everyone records during the same update to keep things fair (in case an older update would give an advantage).

Horror makes this so easy. Not like I'll be participating, but just saying, he does.

Horror is obviously the character to use here, but the main downside of the challenge still stands, which is you can't get any mutations (except for 3-3 and 7-3). Too bad killing Big Dog's missiles don't give you extra radiation, otherwise that would make this challenge pretty easy if you could reach 3-3.

Wizard is correct; if you can last long enough in loops you can get all the mutations, but it is going to be rough getting there. 3_3 and 7_3 allow you to level up because with certain weapons and spawns it would be possible to be forced to level up even with Horror (J.W. was wrong).

I just got to 5-1...I was having a really good run, but I have to go somewhere, so I'll have to try again later. By the way, if you were curious, I was only able to level up twice on 3-3, but it might be possible to level up 3 times with the right setup.

HAHAHAHAHA! Yeah... I've actually had this ready for weeks as can be seen in the spoiler animation I put out during the J.W. Challenge, the names in that are actual names for challenges I have ready. The only change to it is that players are allowed to level up because with the Throne in particular it is just too must to ask of players to avoid it.
