Nuclear Throne
My game didnt loop?
I defeated the throne, and my character sat on it, then I saw A short cutscene involving a room with 2 IDPD officers. Is this a first time thing?

yes the generators on the sides that look like decoration and seem so unimportant.

don't worry though after destroying them the throne will groan and lose half its hp.

I really hate how true that is. There is absolutely no indication that blowing them up would actually do anything, which is why we get these threads still. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying.

Why isn't there a tip that's "Blow up the 4 sources of power"

I wish it was reverse. Like it makes sense that you loop if you don't blow up the generators. Because you really didn't kill the throne so it sends you back to try again. But if you kill the generators then you actually once and for all kill the throne so you get to sit on it and play the cut scene.

Because in Vlambeer's mind looping is an extra thing and you're supposed to just end the game willy nilly.

If they really think that then it is stupid... why create new stuffs in post loop but not wanting people to know, to play them? It is already a flaw, a mistake not to let people know that destroying generators can loop. They should indicate it somewhere in the game.

Frankly this game rely a lot on external sources for info... which I think in gaming perspective, is a game designing flaw.

You aren't wrong there.

To be fair there is 1 indication. It's not a particularly good one, but it is one.

There are sometimes generator props in the palace stages. Destroying them prompts an explosion and dropping a few rads. It's intended that people are meant to see square peg go into square hole and then infer that big square peg can fit into big square hole also surprise it fits into big hexagon hole as well.

The only thing that the props teach you is that they give you rads and that they explode. There's no higher indication as to their importance other than that they are isolated. The fact that they can only be damaged during the fight is masked as well: a player could sink as much ammo into them as possible pre or post fight and get nothing out of it.

His last point is completely wrong. In good roguelike games.....You have to use external sources to figure out stuff. People now are so used to easy stuff like Skyrim bullcrap that shows you the exact place where you need to go and need to be babysitted through everystep. Look at the older roguelikes, Nethack, Rogue, Moria. There is so much stuff that you couldn't know about the game without looking it up or going into the games files and looking for yourself. But they are still really good games.

It makes sense on paper. In practice it does not work. AT ALL. That's where the issue is, nobody I've talked to has ever thought "oh these small generators explode and give me rads, what happens when I blow up the ones in the throne room?". Instead, nobody thinks about it and just post here asking why they can't loop, and we get the same generic generator hate circle jerk that we've gotten 100 times before.

A loading tip would be a great thing to have, whoever mentioned that. It'd make a ♥♥♥♥ ton more sense than the "indicators" we have now.

Idk they seem pretty important to me, a giant prop has to be there for a reason right?

I died to one of those once. Spawned on top of it. I knew they 'exploded' but I thought it was like the way the rad being exploded, kind of a blood explosion that doesn't damage you. I was VERY VERY WRONG!

But the game has a learning curve. If you don't know what they do odds are you aren't ready to loop.

I mean essential info, not the babysitting steps. But is ok if you belong to those who like to look up info in the wb rather than having info present in the game.

I think that most of the info you need to win in nethack is very essential. You wont get very far if you don't know the essentials in the adventures kit. Anyways, wrong thread. =)

Having the info of how to loop in the game is not essential? lol
That is the main reason why so many such threads appearing. lol
