Question on looping

How are you supposed to destroy the generators fast enough to start the loop? Ive tried a few times and every time I can maybe break one generator before the throne just crawls down and blocks me from shooting them. Then I just have to win the normal way and cant loop.

You can do it in 35 seconds, easy.
1: Get some decent weaponry, shoot/punch the throne.
2: wait for the first beam to go off, staying level with or slightly above the top row of generators.
3: step out in the middle of the carpet just below the throne and start blasting the generators until you hear the beam charging noise.
4: move laterally to avoid the next beam, NOT down, get back to the middle once the beam has dissipated and keep blasting until both generators in the top row are gone. As long as you DO NOT move down the throne will stay where it is and as long as you keep triggering the beam it won't shoot much at you either.
5: move down to the second row of generators, repeat step #3 and #4 until they are wrecked.
6: feed lead to the throne until it blows up. Done!
TL;DR: Exploit the beam trigger and don't run to keep the throne pinned in place, kill the generators before killing the throne.

You don't need to do this quickly at all. The throne does NOT actually move unless you're more than about a full screen away from it. In general, when your character is in the middle of the screen (i.e. you're aiming left or right) the front of the throne should be at the top of your screen. This gives enough time to see projectiles coming (in fact, you're not going to get more time by moving further down because either way, projectiles will come from the top of the screen) while still giving you leeway to move further down if you need to without the throne running after you. If the throne's front is between the top two generators, the entire area between the bottom two generators is safe. Just don't run further down.

If you're playing Crystal, you should know that the Throne loses sight of you when holding the shield. This can sometimes trigger the Throne to step forward. Releasing the shield quickly usually avoids that.

Somewhere around labs or palace, I start looking for a good weapon to kill generators with. For most of those weapons, I also know how many shots it will take to destroy each generator. 10 slugs, 12 bolts, way too many bullets, etc.

Thanks for the help everyone! Yeah the last time I came close to doing it I think I broke all generators but ran out of ammo in the process and died, so I will try to do better with weapon selection like you guys are saying
