How to mod?

I have played this game for a very long time but have never used any mods. Are there any up to date guides on how to install mods for Nuclear Throne? Would it work with the [Beta] 60 FPS branch? Let me know, thanks

Hi there! Modern mods are used and installed using Nuclear Throne Together by YellowAfterLife.

Installing the latest version of NTT is currently a slight hassle as there is a beta version that has better mod support as of right now. It should become simpler in the future, but the NTT developer is a bit limited in time to work on it with the ongoing war in Ukraine.

It is currently required you acquire a file from the Nuclear Throne discord server so you will have to join it. https://discord.gg/nt

If you go to the #mod_discussion channel and click on the pins in the top-right. There is a step by step instruction video.

Version 9940 and 9944 can be obtained from the #co-op_buddies channel description at the top.

Once you have NTT 9944 installed you can download various mods from the itch.io category and following the given installation instructions on the individual mod pages! https://itch.io/game-mods/tag-ntt


As for your question regarding the 60fps beta branch. That branch is actually based off of NTT, NTT originally introduced 60fps so it supports it as well.

While not impossible in theory for a sequel to happen, Vlambeer has split up and closed as a company.
