Shoot at things until they die (and/or gamma guts).

On a more serious note : slow down, focus, and don't blow all the corpses as soon as you can. Keeping a few of them between you and the enemies can save you from a bullet spam.
Get cover and don't hesitate to take and use hammer head.

Post loop, get something for protection (E-Sword, Lightning Hammer, etc) and something for crowd control / AoE damage (Super Crossbow, minigun, laser minigun, anything that pierce of can hit multiple targets) and spam your right click.

Since you only have 6 HP, Gamma Guts may come in handy to avoid taking damage from trash enemies (rats, maggots). There's nothing worse than being hit multiple time by a rat you didn't see because he was hugging the walls.

Edit: Those were general melting types, and my or may not be relevant to the achievement. My bad.

Carry Melee to reflect bullets
Get gamma guts incase snowbots chrage at you before you react or if a dog guardian charges at you with low hp
Scarrier face so enemies are easier to kill
Boiling veins are helpful
Shovel + Long arms is really helpful
Hope you don't spawn in an open area
Pay attention to everything
Don't loop - you have to sit on the throne to get everything hurts
Throne butt is good
Blow up corpses when in trouble
Kill the throne quickly or use blood cannon/blood launcher, they block shots
Dodge stuff but don't get to cocky
Take it slow
Take your time
Live Die Repeat
Europhia is good late game
Shovel + Long arms + Trigger fingers is awesome
Stay undercover
Try hitting enemies with melee behind wall, It provides cover from bullets
Snowbots can't fit through one block spaces
Screwdriver isn't that helpful but I'd rather get the jackhammer
Do go to the Pizza sewers if you can: Better weapons for throne
If you do go to the crown vault take the crown of risk, you should only have 2 hp ever
DONT go to the cursed Crystal Cave or Jungle. I doubt you would survive
The oasis is OK but go only for quick runs
NEVER take Bloodlust (Semi Useless), Second Somach (Useless), Rhino skin (For achievemnt), Strong Spirit (For achievent)
Meh Mutations: Eagle Eyes (Nerfs a lot of weapons but can also be really helpful) Weapon Specifics (Depening on current situation) Extra Feet (Only so cobwebs don;t slow you and no ice physics (Ew))
Things that deal 1 hp: Shotgun Shells (But theres 6 of them) Fire, touching a fire salamander, lasers (They usually deal 2 damage in one damage increments(I think)) Frozen Corpse Flower, although i don't know why you would ever bother.

(I don't have the acievment but I still got to the palace so this is still really helpful)

Hope it helped

Look at how some other people have gotten it

Golden Nuke Launcher (GNL) or Golden Rocket Launcher (GRL). Not too tough to drop either of these in the Proto Chest and retrieve it the Crown vault.

Ideally, you also want the Crown of Curses, if you've had some gud runs / beaten the Throne as Melting before. Or Crown of Death, if you want to be a bit overzealous with either of these explosive weapons and make them more powerful (you'd only have 1 HP but the point is pretty much to not get hit anyway, right?)

You want these things because you want to make your journey to the Throne as easy as possible. As soon as you start in 1-1 open all the chests and kill Big Bandit (the GNL will one-shot him, which is why I recommended it). Go through Oasis, then slay Big Dog (again, GNL makes it a joke, with Crown of 'Splosions it'll two-shot him, I think... also will make it easier if you have GRL instead).

With Crown of Curses, you give yourself the option of braving the Cheese Caves after you kill Big Dog in the hopes of opening the Big Cursed Chest for some much better weapons, making the rest of your journey to the Throne easier. Even if the weapon drops suck (they still might because you've done the Oasis skip) you'll get a buttload of rads for more mutations than if you just go to Oasis alone.

The Oasis skip is something just about anyone can do, but last few areas are the REAL reason why you want the GNL, GRL, Crown of Curses or Crown of Death. These items can serve to make up for the poor weapon drops you're receiving as a result of doing the Oasis skip, and doing the Oasis skip also has the major benefit of simply having less enemies to kill before you get to the Throne.

GNL is extremely recommended because it can one-shot the biggest nuisance of all: Lil' Hunter. It will kill Snowtanks and Rhinofreaks in one shot. It will also kill any of the enemies in the Palace in one shot, making it a joke because you can hide behind a wall and just curve the missile around it to kill Dog Guardians.

The GRL can kill laser crystals and sometimes Snowtanks in one shot, two-shot Rhinofreaks, kill enemies in the Palace in one shot, and three-shot Dog Guardians. Both explosive weapons explode on impact with Shielder shields, making them easier to kill.

Once you get to the Throne, your fight will be SO. MUCH. EASIER. if you have the GNL especially if you're cool enough that you're also packing it with the Crown of Death, killing it in just a few hits. Otherwise, you basically want to make it there hoping that Crown of Curses RNG has blessed you with a gud weapon or weapons to kill it, e.g. Super Crossbow, Super Slugger, Auto Crossbow, Gatling Slugger, Hyper Rifle, Jackhammer (RIP ballspam) etc.

TL; DR: Use a Golden Nuke or another really good golden weapon and the Crown of Curses, use the Oasis skip and from then on pray to the RNG Godz for gud cursed weapon drops.
Survive until the Throne, and spam a bazooka at the very end of the hall.
Have your volume up way high to listen if the Throne's was going to spew it's rad death beam.
Spam that bazooka, even if it isn't a gatler, and you WILL win.

"Getting good" actually is the best advise in this case. Melting's B is a test of your mastery of the character, there's no simple way around it. Use what you know about the game to your advantage, maybe try going at the game as a different character with a low-tier bullet weapon so you get a good feel of enemies' behaviors. If you can deal with the game with a pea shooter, you can deal with the game with a weapon that can blast a hole through a small planet.

that's about what I thought. I just wanted to see if there were any dangerously cheesy strategies I was missing out on.

This is one of the toughest challenges I've done. There is no room for error, which means about 10-12 minutes of pure concentration. Keeping calm is the best possible thing you can do while attempting this.
One of the techniques I found really helped me was seeing corpses/dead props as islands you could jump to, that you could explode to create a safe area through the bullet hell. Melting's active is incredible in helping create space.
Melee is also super advisable.
