Recording Nuclear Throne with OBS

I am considering recording my playthroughs and subsequent thoughts on the game as I play, but don't know what would the "optimal" settings for OBS would be, and what particularly I should set in the profile for recording Nuclear Throne.

Feedback appreciated :D

under the video tab I have it set to my monitor's resolution and have the FPS at 30 (youtube cannot display higher than 30 fps anyway).

are you playing in fullscreen or windowed? and I assume you are using game capture..the reason I ask is that I had some problems with OBS crashing when I tried to record Nuclear Throne w/ it..it may have been an incorrect setting, but thought it worth asking all the same :)

I used this guide to setup my OBS. And I record while playing in fullscreen using game capture. Just be sure to assign the start and stop recording functions to hotkeys (I use F9 and F10 respectively) so you can start/stop recording easily while staying in fullscreen.

I play in fullscreen, and alt-tab to start and stop recording. Was the resolution in the encoding tab set to the resolution of your monitor?

I have it set to F1 and F2 for the start/stop recording..even after following that guide, when playing NT in fullscreen I get the message "OBS has crashed" or "OBS has stopped working, do you wish to see a crash report" or something along those lines..I have been recording Spelunky just fine w/ those keybinds and haven't had a problem, though as soon as I start trying to record NT in fullscreen w/ OBS it crashes, and by the time I have noticed that it has crashed I have finished "recording" what would have been the video, had it actually recorded rather than crashing.. :(

Hmm, if it helps any, I have a separate Scene for Nuclear Throne and added a Game Capture by having Nuclear Throne running and typing in "Nuclear Throne" into the Game Capture. (It sounds like you've already done all of this though).

Does it still happen if you play in windowed mode?

I have tried the windowed mode, though I got weird movement "glitches" when I accidentally clicked out of the window(on the taskbar etc.)..will make sure to create a separate scene..that may well be the problem

if that is the problem I'm gonna feel like an idiot xP
