According to the wiki, the mutation tooltip for Ima God Gun is incorrect. It says that you get a +40% increase to fire rate, which with the base 20% means your fire rate would increase from 120% of normal to 160% of normal, a +33.3% increase.
However, it seems that the bonuses aren't increases to fire rate, they're actually reductions to reload time, which would make them way, way, way better. Ima Gun God would reduce your reload time from 80% of normal to 40% of normal, essentially doubling your fire rate. That's a +100% increase, not a +33.3% one.
In summary:
Ima Gun God gives you +100% DPS for +100% ammo consumption.
Back 2 Bizniz gives you +50% DPS for +0% ammo consumption.
And there are "hidden" benefits to both:
Ima Gun God with a melee weapon will provide a lot more protection.
Back 2 Bizniz frontloads the damage, firing three times the moment you click.
Up to you to figure out which Ultra mutation best fits your current or desired weapon/mutation/crown combo.
Your firerate is your reload time.
You can only fire as fast as your gun can reload.
Mathematically, it's completely different.
First, percentages are "stronger" when they're negative.
A +50% bonus to rate of fire will cause you to fire 50% more often (duh).
A -50% bonus to reload time will cause you to fire 100% more often.
Second, stacking is much stronger in the negatives too, and the improvement isn't linear, it gets way better as you stack. If you had a -98% bonus to reload time and gained an additional -1% bonus to reload time, that tiny -1% bonus would increase your fire rate by 100%.
In the game's context:
Going from 120% fire rate to 160% fire rate increases rate of fire by 33.3%.
Going from 80% reload time to 40% reload time will increase rate of fire by 100%.
It makes a huge difference.
your firerate is your reload speed
Y.V's firerate is 160% because his reload speed has 60% cut off it.
You're taking an orange and telling me it's an amazing orange.
