What do cursed weapons do?

When I try to use them they hurt me, do I cursed weapons hurt me for using them?
(I'm asking because of the cursed crown and if it's worth it)

Cursed weapons spawn earlier than they should (So a gun usually won't spawn until the scrapyard will spawn a few levels earlier) but they cannot be dropped unless they are uncursed or the weapon you're trying to switch to is also cursed.
Cursed weapons do not hurt you; what you were using was a blood weapon, which will take HP to fire if you have no ammo.
