What's the purpose of coins in the game?
I really hope they are used to purchase upgrades and not just collectibles.

I'm still in the tutorial, so I don't know, I've gotten 8/10 and I'm debated whether to look for the last two ones or not.

The coins/tokens are just collectibles, but they unlock an insignia when you collect all that are hidden in a mission.

The four insignia are Ghost (not trigger any alarms), Mercy (not kill any enemy), Swiftness (complete the mission in xx minutes) and Thief (find all tokens). Unlocking these will give you extra xp, so technically the coins do have a purpose! :)

Aw, I wish I had know that before killing EVERY guard and triggering alarms on purpose to lure them were I want them (If this game has an item to distract enemies, I haven't found it yet.)

That would be your cloning power, which you'll be introduced to shortly. :)

Don't worry, once you reach your hideout you can repeat any mission and get those insignia. I'd advise you to get thief on its own run, maybe coupled with shadow, but never with mercy or swiftness. Sometimes you just have to kill and locating all the coins takes time if you don't want to use a guide.

And just in case: Complete all side missions while you're at it. They give XP too, of course.

Just be careful when repeating missions. There's currently a bug that occurs when repeating missions at certain points in the game, that can make you unable to continue or do anything.

There's a pretty long thread about the bug, I'd pop in there and ask where the safe spots to replay previous missions are before you actually do it.

I replayed missions twice with no problems, but I can't remember when I did it. :(

I think I'll enjoy more if I just try to "ghost" it. :behappy:

I recently completed mission 1 with mercy and ghost which is what i aim for the first time i play a mission. It gets kinda save load scummy however it's on the highest difficullty and its very fun :D So i do believe you'll have a great time trying to ghost it

You can whistle. I think it is Z or X on the keyboard. Verse effective.

Unless I can make them look in a different direction I am, I don't see the purpose. I could just upgrade the clones and make them distract guards... Does that count as an alarm?
Salzblut Dec 3, 2014 @ 4:24am
If your clone is discovered, it doesn´t count as alarm. Also, when your clone kills someone in a chest or elsewhere, it doesn´t count as kill. I found the whistle really helpful when hiding behind a corner. You can lure the guard towards you and grab him when he´s close enough for the covered kill.

I'm pretty sure I haven't unlocked the "corner kill" yet.
Salzblut Dec 3, 2014 @ 6:58am
You should, it is the move I use mostly to kill guards.

I find the ability to replay missions very immersion breaking :( Especially because you have to do that in order to get all the skills.
Salzblut Dec 5, 2014 @ 7:48am
It´s better to replay missions after finishing the main story. There´s been some bug reports, though I´ve never seen any.

During missions, I always completed all available side quests and unlocked at least 1 insignum (Ghost, in most cases). Helps enhance your xp a lot and for the final chapter, I already had some of the Predeator abilities unlocked.

Man, this game became a thousand time more fun when I gave up on the coins and just tried to ghost it. :behappy:
