Drop down onto ledge?
Is it possible to stand on a ledge, and then drop down and grab it, and climb past guards?

The only way i seem to find is to run out of the ledge, and then quickly turn around, but then i pull him self up right away...

Hold the shift key while walking off the ledge. The way you're doing it, you're making the game think you're jumping at the ledge normally, where pulling up is the default behavior.

I just tried hold shift, and it works.

Thanks!

I changed my button configuration, what does shift do by default?

Shift is the keyboard's answer to "use the absolute slowest walking speed" since we don't have controller joysticks that can do slow-medium-run speeds just based on how far you tilt it.

Wow, thanks really, I was just struggling with dropping off ledges before.

Shift is also vital for getting past those bugs and their super hearing. :)
i still think a context sensitve drop down key would be great when in a hurry

Indeed, you've to be crouching whilst holding Shift for them (if very close). Sadly you cannot muffle the kill :BabyBorn:

Killing them from the front IS a quiet kill, but it'll still get yellow-icon curiosity if other bugs are close enough. I've managed to front-kill a few and then avoid their curious friends by slow-walking away before the new arrivals reach me, sometimes maneuvering so I can stab the newcomer in the face too. :D

Oh, didn't know that, as I've only backstabbed them bloody roabsy roabies so far... Thank you very much for that handy tip! Sometimes they hear a muffled human kill from a kilometre away (or perhaps it was a carried bottle breaking :styx3:

I find chain killing the bugs the easiest way to do it, you can almost lead them towards you and then front kill one, back up a few steps and another will come to that death, and you can just chain them over and over,.. seems to work for me

Almost feels like cheating, as you can do the same with one simple corner & dead corpse - whistle a guard there (multiple times if needed), go around behind his back before he sees the body - the instant they run up to it, :knife2:

A rotten carcass is quite a handy mobile trap, in a sense (at least on the 1st playthrough).

I've killed dozens of bugs and never seen a silent kill option - just "kill" option. They don't make much noise when you kill them but they do make noise.

This doesn't seem to help me at all. If I shift moving forward away from the ledge, I still fall. If I try to back off the ledge holding shift, Styx turns around and then falls.

Am I doing something wrong? I need to use the ledges to reach one of the coins in the docks zone because there are too many people to avoid.

This ledge - in the middle of the screen: I can't grab onto it.

EDIT: ...I think it must be because there's an archway too close below or something, because the shift-drop works other places.
